OK, I need some advice ASAP. I came up to Orlando from Ft. Lauderdale yesterday...about 250 miles. All of my exhaust clamps snapped except one. Tried to ride back last night, but the last one snapped. Tried to ride back to where we were staying after the last one snapped and my race can fell off Then some a**hole ran it over. I need some advice...Is it ok to ride back without a can. The headers are still intact...not to mention it sounds so f'kin bada$$!. I stopped by a harley shop here this morning and one of the techs said if it was his bike he wouldn't ride it, but we all know about the majority of dealership techs. Makes me want to listen less bacause the dealer only had 2 Buells. I need advice ASAP. I'm gonna stay online for about the next 30 mins, but my cell is 954-461-0745. I don't get great service here, so please leave a message. I really need someone that can give me a straight yes or no answer. I don't want to hear "it shouldn't hurt the bike" Thanks in advance. tons of bikes run drag pipes..it will not run well down low, so stay wide open throttle..LoL of course, get your can back on soon as possible |

What did you advise him Tony? I'd have said no worries if he has the Race ECM. Other than possibly fouling the plugs. |

I just realized it was an XB model. In my haste I forgot to check and ask him the model. I still wouldn;t advise any one to limp home over 200 miles on a open header with no support. |

If I remember right without the muffler you loose a bit of the backpressure which could cause the valves to get a bit to hot burning them up. I would just get the bike onto a trailer or in the back of a pickup and get it home. I could be wrong though. |

I have to agree with Spiderman, limping home 200 miles with only the header clamps at the heads...I think you would be looking at snapped header studs/bolts, and possibly cracked headers at the flanges. The open drag pipes you see in the aftermarket are thick as hell at the stress points. |
