I heard there were going to be more than a few Buells racing. I'm going to try and make at least one day. |

Shake 'n' Bake.... baby! Looks like were going to have one hell of a race Laird. The LWT grid is going to be thick. Remember Roebling... |

I'm going to try and make it, not sure I can get off work. I hate that place though so I might not try too hard. |

I just finished pre-registering, figure it is worth the $20 penalty if I can't go. I'll bring my party hat! |

Road Atlanta- My lap times were about 3-4 seconds slower than my fastest times there. After dealing with tearing issues on the Pirellis at Roebling and this weekend at Road A, I found my bike setup is better suited to Bridgestones. I had several missed shifts. Sat- While leading Shred, I had a "moment" in the T-10 Complex. While transitioning from the left to the right, I heard the engine shut down. I looked right to get off in the grass and saw a blue blur of a bike already there. Looked left and there was a bike there. Got my hand up and a better look over my left shoulder to find clear track to get off on the outside of T-11. No engine light and the kill switch was in the run postition. Bike fired up when I started it, but I decided to pull off in T-12 to the old pit area. I figured I ran out of gas. Later remembered about a fueling issue on some XB models. I'll have to look into this... Sun- Race 4 Shred was in a different race class, but he got by me and I was never able to catch up with him. Race 7- Side by side stat with Shred!! Got the better of it until I braked waay too early going into T-10. I figured Shred would settle and follow me, but he and another rider went by on the inside. I chased him the whole race, but only got about a bike length to him. Several mistakes and lap traffic did not help. Both Smoke and Shred had some podium finishes! Congrats!! Thanks to Fran and 1 other badwebber (sorry, I forgot your name!) for coming out to cheer us on! All in all not a fast weekend for me, but I did have a lot of fun!! Can't wait to race again!! Had a blast this weekend. Always do when I'm hanging with such cool peeps like Laird and Tim. We all rode good but could have done better, lol! We kept the rubber down, made it home safe. Thieves at the track and things being stolen is nothing new. It's just getting worse. Really sucks having to keep everything locked under key. Having friends locking out for each other is the best defense against thieves. We former Marines and a Sheriff in our pits on watch. Thanks Laird and Popps! I threw my 3rd place plaque in the corner when I got home. Can't believe I gave up 2nd to Ben and his cheater bike, lol! Eric is the other Bad Webber that bought my Hawk. He'll be on the track soon. |

Laird, You think I'm going to let you off that easy? NO! Race #7 was you in LWT Superbike and I was several rows back in D superstock grid. Passed you in T-4, which was a friendly pass I might add, lol! Race #14 was us racing in Formula 2. Side by side...me against you. The mighty 92HP plus Buell against my fat 71HP Duc 800SS T-10a was my second pass of the day. (Message edited by shred on June 27, 2011) |

It's nice getting back to faster laps. Still need to get at least 3-4 seconds if I'm going to get a 1st in D Superbike at the GNF. That's the goal... I couldn't even keep up with you at Road Atlanta back 2009 and that's my home track. Think we're going to have a few good races against each other this year. |

Thanks guys and gal, my son and I enjoyed the weekend. It was nice to hang out with everyone for a bit. Seems my son has some of the bug to because he's now wanting to learn how to ride. That's two son's that are getting into riding. To bad I missed Sunday, sounds like I missed some good racing. Took a bunch of pics but my little camera was not up to the task. A few almost turned out. Shred is right - I now have the racing bug .. First step is some track days on the hawk. |

had a lot of fun at Road A!! i'll try to pick up the speed in Oct! i know i left a couple seconds laying on the track but had no close calls which is a lot better than last year! turns 1-5 is where i should be able to pick it up. another opportunity later in the year! you should have heard the smack talk going on in the next pits over. taught little Nicholas some throttle control too! tim |
