Hi, After sitting some weeks I went to start my 2004 XB12S. Turned the key and got no lights or fuel pump. Cycled key a few times and they came on. Hit starter and bike started but immediately killed. No lights, no fuel pump.Gauges came on per usual. I put a charger on for some time and tried again. It did the same thing, sometimes lights and pump. others not. If it started it killed right away. After a longer charge, and trying another key, I was able to get a short ride out of it. Then same thing. I put a new battery in, charged it. It started and ran on 2nd try. Now, 3 days later, I am back to no lights or pump, gauges come on, no starter. After many tries I get lights, fuel pump, etc. But it still fires up then dies. Any thoughts?? |

Yep most likely the key switch. You can take it apart (with some effort) and clean out the contacts. |

Also, be sure to check the relays under the seat, if the ignition relay is bad it can give you similar symptoms. |

Thanks Froggy, The key does feel a bit "loose" so I may start there. |
