Ok boys, I've got a 99 S3 in "T" option, it is great...but recently the rear suspension (WP shock) has started to squeak very loudly and annoyingly when I put weight on the seat. It goes squeak squeak squeak when I walk it out of a parking space or adjust my position at a light.

I increased tension a little bit, and tried to spray a little wd-40 on the spring. It helped a little but it still makes that horrible grating squeak. My next step is to actually grease the spring, unless I have the problem absolutely misdiagnosed. has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was the solution?

Could it be swingarm bearings?

Use more of like an oil, wd-40 sucks. I spray mine with pb blaster every so often

I have a works performance shock there best model and it squeaked from day 1. I called them and complained and they said it was normal and it is the valving inside the shock. They said it should actually be a lot more squeaky. I told them that sucks because i hate squeaky and i would have never bought if i knew it squeaked. So i just live with it and i can only hear it when the motor is not running.

It's probably the heim joints on the ends of the shock that are squeaking.

I lubed all of the above and it has quited down almost to nothing. I suspect it was the heim joints, thanks everybody.

I just noticed a crack in my right hard bag, a cowboys work is never done...
