Anyone who's put these on the Uly, have you noticed the soxs essentially melting away after awhile? |

you mean the ones you put on the front fork? Mine have been there 2 years no problem and after changing the oil and springs i've refitted them and still look good. |

I'll wager he's talking about the rear shock. That poor shock gets ROASTED by the fan+rear head. |

No, it's the front. It's like they're wearing away from rubbing the wheel or melting. I'll post some pics when I can. I recently had it out for a couple days of off-asphalt (hard-packed dirt) riding. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it though. |

I think so. Maybe I didn't tighten it enough. Here are the pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/testcase_net/sets/721 57626933761350/ |

This is from where I got mine the just need to fit tight to the fork, and the don't have any velcro so you need to take the fork off, a good time to do it is when you need a front tyre, after all is just a few bolts: http://www.proline-sports.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_f ork_protection.htm |

After a few looks to the pics i think the problem is the velcro, i thought of those too but wandered if the velcro would hold up, as it seems it doesen't, so the way i went seems to be the one that works best |

Looks to me like you had them too tight. Mine are on tight enough to provide coverage/protection and keep the dirt out, but not over stretched. |
