Under each of the two rubber buttons that switch display modes and reset the trip meters is a 6mm tactical switch. My mode change button went bad so I disassembled the cluster to replace it.

I found digikey part# SW1178-ND (Omron B3F-1062) to be a drop in replacement, though it has a lighter actuation force. I just unsoldered the old ones and put these in.

Basically you just need a 6mm tactical switch with a ~7mm button height.

Now they work again, yay! Also did the Fatty voltmeter mod while I was in there, works great too!

I doubt radioshack would have them. Fry's might if you have one near you. Newark and Digikey have basically taken over the electronics component supply business though.

digikey (http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.d ll?vendor=0&keywords=SW1178-ND).

I ordered several since they were so cheap, in case I damaged them on assembly or something, so I could drop a couple in the mail if you'd like. It might be faster and easier just to order from digikey though.
