Hi all I think my stator is grounded on my Uly 07, it does not have the voltage regulator failure-prone '77' ( I have checked it, cleaned). Here's the problem with my 2007 XB12X the bike will not charge, after a charge with a 10am charger it is back up to 13v but loses quickly while riding. Increasing revs makes no difference. Voltage still slowly drops. I replaced the voltage regulator, did not fix it, so I think it’s the stator With my multi-tester I checked the battery voltage. Reading is 11.5. With the bike running, the voltage climbs to 12.0 @ 3k rpm. Battery connections are tight. Ground looks good. An AC voltage check on the Stator connector shows about 18 vac at idle on pin 1 and 2 and only 1.8 on 1 and 3, they all clime with rpm The resistance is 0.1 on all pins I am a student so, is it possible to place the slator myself?, will I need any special tools?
