A good pipe and ecm will knock off some time. Adding 15-20 hp & 10+ ft/lbs of torque throughout most of the upper rpm range (ie; 5000 rpm and up) will certainly help. I know this guy that makes a pretty mean one.... www.keda-design.com |

I've taken my bike to the strip a few times. Its setup for street riding, not drag racing. The only change I will make is dropping the rear tires pressure to low 20# range. I'm no expert, but the best I've been able to launch is about 1.9s. The track is really run down and slick so much harder on the throttle than that and I will spin the tire. Since this is the same vehicle I commute on, I can't afford to burnout but I will do a quick scrub to get the dirt off. |

> I can't afford to burnout but I will do a quick scrub to get the dirt off. Man, buy a spare wheel and find a racing buddy you can get take-offs from. I've got a huge stack here of slicks with perfect centers. I sell my take-offs for $20 a tire, and most have 90% centers. The slicks aren't DOT, so the squids pass on them. But, they would be perfect for your application. |
