Hello, Just received my new IC yesterday, I read carefully the installation procedure from 2009 1125 manual (service and electrical diag.) to make things right. This procedure say that when IC is installed and powered, a 30 min countdown appears instead of clock. When this countdown arrives to 0 the ECM and IC are paired, and ECM sends VIN and Mileage data to the new IC. Well as I said I followed all the steps to install it, but when the IC is powered no 30 min. countdown appears. So what happens? The Odo works, but it starts at 0 (my bike has 24k km more or less), and service counter is at 1000km. Am I doing something wrong? May be 1125CR 2010 the IC replace procedure is different? I ask about the IC replacement to my dealer mechanical, and his says to me that never replaced any IC (bad for me), and also says that install the new IC and use the bike, because he knows that some ECM from HD (this is not an HD!)makes the pair when reach the 50km. So I do it... now is installed and running, only 10km. Ups... almost forgot, the bike runs great, no problems and no error codes or engine failure led. Thanks | ||

my odo reset one time last year after i pulled the battery. fix was to pull the i/c fuse and turn the key on for 10-15secs. turn off replace fuse and that cleared it up for me. | ||

When you say "...and that cleared it up for me" you mean that the correct mileage appears correctly in the IC? I'll try this operation, thanks man... | ||

Boogiman1981, I tried to remove the Ignition Switch fuse, started the bike and no response, that's normal; putted the fuse again and all fine, but ODO stills with wrong numbers... Can you tell which fuse exactly I must remove? Thanks | ||

The manual is correct; that's how it's supposed to work... I've had my IC replaced 4 times now. One of them was bad and would not sync up, exhibiting the same behavior you describe. It had to be exchanged. The replacement worked fine. | ||

Thanks Chameleon... I left my bike and the IC to my local dealer, and they say that IC didn't get the info, so I must run with this one and make the total km with memory! My dealer didn't tell me that the IC maybe wrong... in fact is the first one they change. The problem is, that IC is not under warranty, because I was involved in a traffic accident... and to get it worse I purchased at Lakeshore (LSH1) dealer to save lots of bucks, IC cost me 280$, but in Europe it cost me 450$, and two months waiting it, so I thing I must accept this way. By the way, and if may I ask... What you need to replace 4 times your IC? Thanks | ||

Ros sorry that didn't help you mate. that's all i needed to do to mine when the odo went blank on me. i'm currently 122 days and counting for odo #3 second replacement..... | ||

#1 was due to the infamous parasitic draw killing batteries on early 2008 1125Rs. #2 was due to a crash... I looped the bike in front of my house. #3 was due to condensation collecting inside the #2 dash due to a failed weather seal. This unit was faulty. #4 was the replacement for the faulty IC #3. All but #2 were under warranty and #2 was covered by my insurance with a $250 deductible. That dealer is screwing you if they won't replace a part which is clearly faulty. A polite & courteous call to HD corporate might just get you a replacement. | ||

The problem is I bought in the States, and I'm from Spain, so I think it will be a pain in the ass, to send to US dealer, then send back to me, and so on... | ||

I guess you'll have to decide which is a bigger pain in the ass... Having an incorrect odometer or paying the freight. | ||

Pay two freights and wait time, is the biggest pain in the ass  So my ODO will show incorrect, and I use my memory to get the correct 10k km periodical mechanical checks on time. |
