Well I got rid of my AWESOME x1 a few years ago... tried a softail last year (didnt care for it) and will be picking up my 2004 XB12R with 5k miles on it today... Jardine Exhaust only mod.
Says it needs a recall, doesnt know what for...gotta run that yet? may need ECM mapped?? for pipe
What else should I be checking on?
Not as familar with the XB as I was with the tube frames, but figured I'd try something different....
Thanks for the feedback...

SO, I jut brought it home and the first thing I noticed is slow speed steering... It really tries to pull away from where I want it to go...(was actually difficult to turn onto a road from a slow/stop it wanted to turn wide) I've had several bikes, and this was the first time i have felt that kind of steering pull...Is this normal,
It is hard to explain, but I dont feel like can just lean and turn into a slow turn corner like it should???
The front tire is stock, and I plan on double checking inflation...

ECM - Pick one up from Erik Buell Racing.

Recalls - According to Recalls.gov there is no recall on the 2004 XB12R. The 12S had a recall due to the horn mounting.

Steering - Either the front tire is flat, or the suspension is poorly setup. Put some air in it, set the suspension to your weight, and see how it does. It could also happen if the tire is worn out, or a Dunlop.

Froggy, thanks for the feedback, tire is low, 25lbs, and I have the owner's manual and will be adjusting to my weight ..180-200, then I will let you know if anything has changed..I checked the tire for wear indicators and did not find them.. but it is the original tire (i think)

What was the issue with the headlights?... I called the dealer and they are going to be checking on any recalls, but who knows when they will get back with me....

There was a customer service campaign for 2003-06 Firebolts, Buell would replace the headlights due to some of them melting the reflective coating off the reflectors. This program has expired, it was not a recall.

Once you get it set up you'll not have to mess with it again.

I browsed the XB section a while before and after picking up my XB. I seldom check in on this part of the board now that my bike is set up right, still hang in the old school most of the time. It's been so worry free it blows my mind!

Enjoy
