I notice this every time I've been out for a ride of any great length. I hear this boiling noise coming from the bottom area of my rear shock. Certainly doesn't sound normal but it isn't leaking anything either. My son's 07' bike isn't doing this because I've checked both after a few rides we've done together. Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts about this? |

time to throw the pasta!!! lol My guess is that you have a leak that let some air in. Anyhow it is definitely NOT normal. It's not easy to see the shock in it's entirety, are you sure there are no leaks anywhere? |

EG, just to throw this out there, is there the possibility that you might be hearing gas in the tank in an 'excited' state, bubbling away from the heat off of the engine? They are sorta in the same zip code. I recall a discussion about the super-heated state of gas in the frame a few years back. |

The trans/primary vent exits there. That is what you are hearing. Al |

Hhmmm... So far you have: - air leak - boiling fuel - trans vent I'm gonna guess your radiator has a slow leak. Get some of this: Sorry, I'm not much help (can you tell?). But if I were to take a stab at it, I'd guess trans vent as well, or fuel vent. See if you can isolate exactly where the noise is coming from. A make-shift stethoscope from a piece of rubber tubing can help. |
