I was able to get out and ride today! Rode them all!! I was at a gas station and there was a guy there with a brand new bright red Ferrari. We pulled out together and both gave the other a thumbs up at the same time. He loved the X-1. Pretty cool. That's why we ride Buells. PERFORMANCE! .....and everybody on the block doesn't have one....just like a Ferrari. It had trouble restarting...there's a weird connection issue with the positive battery terminal...fully charged, directly attached to the battery cable, but it smokes and struggles to start...it melted the last battery's terminal I had! Detached and reattached the cable, it started right up, and I raced home and swapped it for the Uly (+1 for Buell reliability). It's hilarious how different they feel (which is good).   Ratbuell Posted on Thursday, February 10, 2011 - 09:50 pm:        DAYTONA BABY!! Got word today that I can have time off to ride to Daytona for the races. Plan is to saddle up Weds AM (3/9) and slab it down; riding back on Sunday the 13th. Two questions: 1. Anyone want to come along? Always nice to have company. Plan is to stay on the infield...but I have family an hour away if needed. 2. Anybody have a spare XB pulley and rear rotor for sale/loan? I have a spare rear rim, and a ContiMotion tire that I'd rather flatspot on the slab instead of my 616...but I hate to swap stuff back and forth all the time. Been out on hiatus mainly doing triathlons for the last year! Ready to ride again! I'm restoring my XB9SX to its original condition, including the exhaust! I also heard Erik Buell will be able to advertise/sell bikes again starting this month. Is that true? Do you think he will be open to service our bikes or will that still be Harley's gig? One shot, should be 13 hours or so down I95 (boring, I know, but on a timetable here people...). If anyone wants to join in, shoot me a PM. More the merrier! Chris - I think repair and maintenance is gonna be on us owners for a while, until Erik gets his new brand established and a significant dealer network (I hope I can talk to him about that a little bit in Daytona...if I can tie him to something heavy and keep him in one place long enough to chat!). Right now its literally him, and eleven people. Period. But the time will come. Firebolt needs a new battery. Won't take a charge. 1125R has left turn signal stuck on. Won't shut off. Took the switch apart yesterday thinking maybe water in there from washing the bike Sat. morning. No water and nothing appears to be wrong. Hopefully, it will dry out and fix itself. Don't know what else to check.
