Jeez Wolf, did you really have to remind us? At least while I'm sitting inside I can "pretend" it's spring outside...oh...wait...that is Ohio spring. As for the Blessing of the Bikes, sounds like we've got a consensus on meeting at Northstar. I'll put some info into the Cobra website calendar over the weekend. Squid - You want to pick a place to meet up with you once we reach Dayton? |

Anyone know how to add a 12v outlet to my XB9? I would like to take a GPS to Sturgis this August, and the motorcycle units are waaaaaaay out of my price range. |

Yup. What I did was purchase a Powerlet that plugs into my battery tender tail to convert to a standard cigarette socket. I route the tail up and out the front of my seat and into my tank bag. At just $15 it works like a champ. Here's a link: http://www.powerlet.com/product/sae-to-cigarette-s ocket-cables/319 The only challenge will be the vibrations to your GPS. The ones built for bikes are bit more rugged and protective of the elecronics, so I use mine in my tank bag map cover to help cut down on the vibes killing my poor TomTom. But I think I'm going to try to mount my cheaper TomTom this year, using this: http://www.ram-mount.com/NewProducts/TomTom130Moun t/tabid/212/Default.aspx |

All, I received an email from a Buell owner over in Reynoldsburg that is parting out his disassembled 2003 XB9S. If anyone is looking for parts let me know and I'll hook the two of you up. Even if you're not, might be a good opportunity to pick up some "backup" parts for the future. |

Sorry Neil, I don't know what he has or doesn't have, or what he's asking for pieces/parts. George just contacted me to pass along to the group that he was parting out his bike in case anyone was interested. You'll have to get in touch with him directly. I'll shoot you an email with the contact info he sent me. |

My wife pointed the article out to me last night (there were two motorcycle wrecks last night that she saw ), but neither of us noticed the Buell trademark...until just now. Didn't know him though. |

I didn't recognize the bike or the name. It is always tough to see the results of bad decisions. Maybe it was intended to make the rest of us stop and think. I know it made me pause. My condolences to his family. |

So... went to go meet my Mom for lunch today and wound out first gear for a good hard shift to second. I thought I missed second gear, and my bike just kept revving. So finally figured out I snapped my drive belt. Good thing I was only about 2 blocks from work and I have good HD buddies I work with to come save me with another bike. I had to ride BITCH back to the shop to get the truck and trailer to save my own bike off the side of the road. *Good thing I had a spare already knowing that my 2003 would break it eventually.* 22245 miles on the original. Let's see how long the next one lasts. |

Greetings all. Here's a link to the 2011 Res Ride thread in Storm Fronts. The ride takes place in and around Altoona, PA Memorial Day weekend, May 28/29. Along with the regular Res Ride on Saturday with Clem's BBQ afterwards, Sunday I'm planning a ride to the Flight 93 Memorial site. If you have any comments, please add them their. Thanks and hope to see you there! Toona |

Thump, sorry I didn't see that post regarding the Blessing of the Bikes. I live less than 5 miles from UD arena, it might be just as easy for me to meet you guys there. Other option could be the "newer" Marriott which is across the street from the Arena on Edwin C. Moses Blvd. I believe my step dad is riding with me, on his bagger. |

No problem Squid. If you're only 5 miles away you're probably right, it would just be easier to meet up there. I'm sure we can pick out your Buell or vice versa. :-) |

I haven't heard much noise about it, but the Riders 4 Relief event is in just 2 weeks, on Saturday April 24 in Coshocton. The wife and I are thinking about riding over and seeing all the bikes, although it's our anniversary weekend so it's not carved in stone. But if anyone wants to start up a group to ride over, here's your chance! Some info: http://www.riders4relief.com/Events.html |

I just ordered a race ECM from Erik Buell Racing to upgrade my stock. Can't wait to see how she rides with it! Now I'll be calling home every day at lunch next week to see if it's shown up yet....haha! |

Yup, the bike is still pretty much stock in terms of engine or performance mods. I run a K&N air filter (I do in all my vehicles for ease of maintenance) and I have the breather bypass, but that's pretty much it. In talking to Erik Buell Racing last fall, they made a point of indicating that the Erik Buell Racing ECM won't produce any more peak power without other mods (like exhaust and high-flow air filter, in particular) but it "will improve drivability and midrange power for track days". Uhmmm...yeah...suuuuure, only on track days. I take it you must have one H20 and like it? |

Uly Spotted in Kettering I saw and orange Uly in the parking lot of BW3's at Town & Country last night. About a block from my house. Erik Buell Racing sticker on the windscreen, hard cases. Looks Cummfy! |

""will improve drivability and midrange power for track days". Uhmmm...yeah...suuuuure, only on track days."" I have the factory race kit on my xb9sx. I noticed a little less power from idle to around 2500, but more everywhere else. I do track days on mine, and I think what they may be referring to is the burst of power up around 5k, which I rarely experience on the streets. I finally got out for a 20 mi. ride yesterday. Felt great, ran great. Funny thing about me , in the winter, I avoid cycling forums. The urge to ride gets so great that I get a bit irritable, so I just cover the bike, put all of mu gear in a hidden spot and avoid these forums. Ready to ride now though! |
