When I bought my 2006 Uly in July of last year, I had Illinois H-D check the service history. They told me it was up to date, and that the two recalls: Recall 0832 B-063A Sidestand and the Recall 0833 B-066 Bank Angle Sensor were complete. Guess what? My bank angle sensor has NOT been relocated. Someone must have pencil-whipped the recall. The sidestand is the newer design, so that seems good. What should I do? Do they still have to do the recall? If I could get the bracket and extension cable I would do it myself. I'm going to email Chris at IL H-D to see what he says. |

Exactly what happened to me, last warranty work I had done 3 years ago I declined the BAS relocation at the time. My BAS finally wore out a few months ago so when I replaced it I decided to get the relocate done. Called my local trustworthy dealer and they told me it had already been done according to HD. Called HD CS and they confirmed that it had been "done" by the service people at my last warranty issue. I explained that no it hadn't and without any drama at all the CS rep asked me what dealer I wanted to get it done at, and that all I needed to do was take it in for verification and they would order the kit. That I did, they verified and ordered, and did the fix as soon as I arrived on the appointed day. Skip Fordyce in Riverside CA, one heck of a better Buell shop than the POC place I bought my bike from... Call HD CS 1-414-343-8400, be nice and have your VIN ready. |

I wonder if the BAS relocation is necessary if the Comfort Kit is installed? IIRC, it was claimed heat and vibration were killing the BAS's. I'm not sure there's any less vibration at the rear of the tail than there is next to the ECM in the original mounting location. You could stuff quite a bit more stuff in the rear of the tail section before they added that massive bracket to hold the BAS in the new location. |

i had the recall done, but i put the bas back to it's original place and a friend did a welding bit at the rear so i still have the place to put bits where the bas update was located |

I had the BAS on my 09 replaced last summer. Doesn't seem to matter a whole lot where they are located. |

How does one know when the BAS is in need of replacing? I understand it takes about 20 seconds for it to reset. |

If you're aware what's happening and quick you can cycle the kill switch and reset it while rolling, but if you need to do that then it might be on its way out. Mine simply wore out at about 70k:
Vibration and dust allowed the pendulum to chew its way into the case and board, it just shut everything down. |

So what is that, a hall-effect switch and an SCR? I don't see any contacts. |

The. Xbimmer. Now, how do I disconnect it? I don't want to pull the wires. Do I try to push off the big UP part that has the wires? There is no space for fingers and I don't want to muck it up. Ths. |

I believe that this can be disabled with ECM Spy. When I got my Race ECM from E.B.R. it was already disabled. Now my BAS could go bad and unless I put in my original ECM the bike doesn't care. |

How do you unplug it? Which part unplugs? |

I'm sorry, but I don't know. I have never messed with it. I will look at my manual and see if it gives any useful information. |
