After my abrupt get off, and a broken shoulder, I've decided to sell the CR. I've had a buyer in the wings all along. He has a Uly, and would have jumped at an 1125 during the fire sale, except he was out of work! Well, his new baby came last week, is healthy, and he now has a job and enough put aside that we worked out a deal. The Buell was as much fun as I've ever had on a motorcycle, and I have no regrets and a bit of sadness, but I still have the V-Rod and an 883 sporty, so its not like I'll be bikeless. I took the Buell to Sturgis, and to the Texas hill country. But I was getting stupid on it, as it is soo damn quick, (which is why I wound up dropping it, I assume). I'll be over at 1130cc.com (I'm a mod there) but likely will be a bit more scarce here. This board has been a great source of info, so many thanks to all who helped over the past couple of years. Ride safe boys and girls, its dangerous out there. |

Yeah, I (and my more-than-mild self-destructive streak right now) parked the CR in the shed so I'm not tempted for a while. Looking down three times in a 1 hour ride and seeing 130+ on the speedo...I don't need that at the moment. Not the state of mind I have right now. It's just too accessible, speeds like that on that bike. I'll stick to my aircooled bikes for a while, till my "FTW" mood passes some.... |

I completely understand. I used to have an RC51 and I was hitting triple digits more and more often. That's actually one of the reasons why I got a CR, so that the wind resistance would discourage me a bit. So far it is working, mostly... |

Over the past 12 years I've gone through a Triumph Sprint ST and a Speed Triple, Yamaha FZ-1 and a FJR 1300, and Suzuki Bandit 1200. Every one a great machine. Kept each a year then sold because of over 130mph habits, after a year without was tempted to the next. I am relatively good on the CR because of the stiffer gearing and no fairing but whaddya gonna do. As Eddie Lawson said "I feel the need for speed". |

Get an XB12R (or a modern Guzzi). It should limit your high speed runs without taking the fun and handling away. |

Most bikes these days are insane in the speed department. Even my TRX 850 Yam cracks 220kph (130mph) and I'm often in the 160 >180kph range. It's just way too easy these days |
