I am wondering if anyone has experienced yet parts shortages for the Blast. For example, according to the manual, the sprockets should be changed when a new belt is installed. How much longer could those parts continue to be available, for example? Supposedly Harley continues to make the Blast, but has anyone seen new ones anywhere? Are we looking at 3-4 years or less before we have to start improvising parts? |

Ten years - though HD has not officially axed the Blast - they have not produced any for 2011. EZ |

HD produced a run of Blasts in 2010 with no Buell ID on them except for the gas tank lid. Those were sold in numerous places, including a dealer north of me. Buell never made them continuously but would make batches of them as needed. |

So wait, I'm confused (as usual). Do any of you guys with more contact with HD know whether they will make more blasts as needed for riders edge, or not? Or do we really know for sure either way? |

Official word from the Riders Edge folks is that Harley is working on a new, beginning bike that will work in the MSF program. They didn't sound too convinced and neither am I. I haven't had any issues finding Blast parts yet as RE bikes continue to be run |

There is a thread elsewhere on the board that is talking about ATK importing Hosung or some other Chinese knockoff and selling them at H-D dealers |
