I've noticed when my engine is cold that when I pull in the clutch I get what I can only describe as a "chirping" sound. It sounds mostly like the exhaust note from a stock VW Beetle exhaust. The frequency of the chirp is dependent most upon the RPM at which I pull in the clutch (higher RPM higher chirp frequency). It stops when the motor is warm. I do have the breather rerouted but haven't put a catch can on it yet. I've adjusted the primary chain thinking it might be slapping against the inside of the case. What is it? | ||

If it did it cold and warm I'd say throw out bearing most likely, possibly grenade plate getting ready to go. Strange it goes away when warm. Crankcase breather noise generally gets louder as engine temperature rises. | ||

It's most likely in the primary. Check your chain tension and the shoe pretty, confident you will find one of the two needs to be addressed. |
