I'm thinking of going to a Drummer SS for my '08 1125R. I read the AS comparison and really like what I've seen and read about the Drummer, especially not having to replace the ECM. I also like the Drummer's looks best, second only to the Torquehammer. I do want the SS because it just seems right on an American Sportbike. Hong Kong Exhaust....LOL! Unfortunately, there are not a lot of pictures of 1125R's with the Drummer SS. Can some of you who went to the Drummer post up your best pics? Last question: Do I loose the capability to lift the front of the bike via the exhaust with this exhaust? It looks like it from the pics. Pic courtesy of KDFab website: Thanks all. Not an R but a CR, have to say that the quality, fit and finish of the Drummer is of a high standard, it also sounds great. If you do decide to go for the Drummer you will not be disappointed in fact shortly after getting mine a friend ordered one for his XB12ss. However as your going for a new pipe you may as well push the boat out and get the Erik Buell Racing ECM and a K&N filter, it complements the exhaust that much more.

It's not the best picture of Kevin's work but better than nothing. Kevin is a stand up guy that will take care of you. I just sent mine back a month ago and had it updated with the new wrap and did a few mods to it. The bike sounds better than ever. I did add a K&N to it but it still has the stock ecm. The bike runs like a raped ape and sounds killer. I love watching track day footage the wife has taken because the bike sounds killer when its on the hard deck at speed.

Got mine a couple of years ago and LOVE it. Spilled some brake fluid on the paint and decided to polish it -
Headers are also polished now, mid-pipe is still black tho... |

Zac, last week I had to re-register my bike which meant putting on the original pipe, while the Drummer was off I noticed a few stone chips and a slight dis-coloration of the mid pipe so I had intended to clean it and re-paint it with some heat proof paint. I bought a fine sanding sponge and was very surprised how easily the black paint came off the mid pipe, it only took about 20 minutes, once done I decided not to paint it as I quite liked the look of the dull stainless, however to polish it up like the rest of your pipe would'nt of taken long either. Thought it might interest you as you mentioned your headers are now polished along with the muffler..

Thanks all. Looks very nice. Do I loose the jack point under the muffler to raise the front wheel off the ground? |

yes, you will lose the jack point from the muffler. The stock muffler is bolted firmly to the engine, giving a strong lift point that aftermarket mufflers don't have. If you're in a bind, you can still get creative with a piece of wood and a floor jack to lift off the engine with an aftermarket exhaust. That might work. With an aftermarket muffler on there, jacking off the main exhaust tube would likely bend the tube. If it somehow didn't deform the tube, then the bike's weight would be put on the headers and header bolts indirectly. I wouldn't advise trying it. A good front wheel lift that lifts from the steering stem is priceless if you work on your bike at all. |

Mine was the second delivered, and I ride daily. You can't beat the quality, and there is no better customer service. Kevin rocks. |
