Well I picked her up at her mom's house in Margate at or about 11:30am. We drove down Jersey on the parkway for awhile till we hung a right into Marmora. She was screaming at every turn. Stopped to top off some fuel and get coffee and hot chocolate. Then the fun began. We drove back streets through the southern Pine Barrens 'till we hit Belleplain State forest. The roads there are crowned, banking, pot hole ridden, and well ...fun. Our signal if everything is OK is either thumbs up or thumbs down. She never brought the thumb down and we were just laughing and yahooin' it up. We almost drove into two red tailed hawks at different parts of the day and also had to crawl past past four horseback riders. We ended up out in Maurice River, at the diner there. I had a fat cheeseburger, she had the French onion soup and we split a side of cheese fries. As I watched her talk and I listened , I could not help realize that days like these are numbered and I sat back as my little girl talked to her father like we were the only two in the joint. We took the most direct route home and she thanked me for the day and my wife got a quick picture before I put the bike away. What a day for this old man....... |

Thanks for sharing. Brought a tear to my eye. I look forward to taking my 4 year old daughter on bike rides when she's old enough. |

Wow, nice pic and a great story to go with it! Some of my most cherished memories are of times I spent with either of my two daughters, especially when they were little. They were too young to go for rides on my motorcycle so we went bicycling a lot. They are now 14 and 18 and we rarely find time to go for a ride as they have such busy schedules. Spend as much time with them as possible, they grow up too fast. Thanks for posting. |

Mine starts Collage in this Fall. I know what you mean "I could not help realize that days like these are numbered" But she still wouldn't let me talk her into taking the motorcycle safety course with me. |

Ulys and Daughters just go together! Carlee (Smilee) and her Dad (M2nc) started riding together when she was 8. They take one trip a year on the bike for the weekend. She loves it. She's about to turn 16 and wants to take the MSF class this summer. Guess there goes my Blast.... |

I have taken my younger daughter for a day ride here and there. She has a great time also. Sunday was special because her mother and her are not getting along and asked me to get her out of there. Long story short, I am in a custody battle and for some reason this day was special for me. Their mother is wasting time with them and yet I seem to cherish these moments with them and try to inform her that these days are slowly slipping away. Can't change people and I have stopped trying. It, unfortunately, will be her biggest loss. |

Keep doing what you're doing Tank. As much as my three children may drive me crazy some days, I can't imagine life without them and/or their antics! Good luck with the custody issue. Keep the pictures coming! |

Awesome! Enjoy your precious time with your daughter, these are the memories that will stay with her. My brother started riding street bikes with my niece when she was 9 or 10, and they started riding dirt bikes together when she was a teen. It was a great outlet for both of them, especially during the transitional teen years, when she was prone to clash with mom. She's in her mid-20's now, they still have a strong father/daughter bond. Hoping to get them both in my MSF class when I teach up north this summer! |

My daughter (11) loves riding with me and we are already planning our weekend road trip for the Spring. Uly is such a great comfy bike for these trips. She now has a dirt bike and is learning to ride. |

Why would you say these days were numbered for riding your daughter? They can go on as long as the two of you would like.
She was 21 in this photo a year or so ago. It was quite cold, we rode about 60 miles. When she wasn't shivering she laughed most of the way. A great day for sure. She, and any of my adult children (4) can ride with me anytime. |

Very Cool! I fully support taking your kids on the bike, especially daughters. I took my 9 year old daughter on a 5 day trip last summer to Yosemite and Sequoia national Parks and had a great time. The Uly was perfect for the trip. It held everything we asked it to and gave us no problems. I recently told her to start thinking about where she would like to go on this summer’s trip. I’m personally thinking California’s north cost and Oregon’s south coast, then cut inland and check out the waterfall highway, Crater Lake National Park and Lava Beds National Monument. Here is a pic from last summers trip taken in front of Bridal Vail Falls in Yosemite.

that brings back warm memories of my Dad taking me riding all over when I was a kid. I'll never forget the times we went riding. Very cool My Dad used to take me to the Little Tavern for a sack of mini burgers all of the time back in the late 70's on his old Honda. He was crazy he had an 8 track tape deck and speaker mounted on that bike and you could hear him coming home ABBA blasting away! He was the one who taught me to ride |

My Dad got me started on this biking thing too. He farmed and also held a full-time job. Somehow he always found time to take at least one or two of us five boys for a ride on Sunday afternoons. The biggest bike he had at the time was a Honda CB350 twin! |

My wife and I met a grandfather/granddaughter duo late last summer. They had traveled into western Canada from Minnesota. Been on the road a week with another to go then the granddaughter was flying home to start school. Would guess her to be 14 or 15. Talk about quality time for the both of them. |

I have 3 daughters, my 15 y/o likes to ride but only for short distances so we go ride and eat or camp locally. My 12 y/o would ride cross country tomorrow if I asked her, we usually take 2 - 3 trips a year and camp. My 2 y/o rides on the golf cart with me and thats about it, give her a few more years..... All of my children grew up riding at an early age with dirt bikes and love riding! My 12 y/o and I will be camping at the track in Daytonha in a couple of weeks, stop in and say hello! |

My daughter started about 8 on the Firebolt, likes the Uly even better! If I'm not mistaken, the chaps were Carlee's (duct-taped for size?), paid forward courtesy of Ulywife, and they're still in use (Thanks again!). The jacket was paid forward as well(the donor escapes me) and passed along to another young rider, but Alyson's moved up several sizes and now has her own fully armored jacket. Treasured moments that will be remembered for a lifetime!
On a funny side note, the Uly is also perfect when your 17-year-old son still wants to ride with you (he's taking the MSF course this summer) but needs "man-space" between! Downside is, an already wheelie-happy bike is even more so with 6' 140lbs sitting WAAAAY back!!! |

Glad that Alyson has gotten as many years out of those chaps as Carlee did. Duct tape maybe "red neck", but it was cheaper than new chaps every year! Thanks for sharing the picture! |

Downside is, an already wheelie-happy bike is even more so with 6' 140lbs sitting WAAAAY back!!! Aint that the truth, My son is 13 and already 5' 10" 125lb and loves to ride with me. The front end seems sooooo light with him I have to be very careful. I've been out to the garage a few times and caught him sitting on it and going vroom vroom vroom...... I think I'm gonna be in trouble in the next couple years, he just might be like I was; the kind of kid that would try to sneak out with it. My 15year old daughter on the other hand doesn't much like riding with me anymore (the helmet messes up her hair). She says if she's gonna ride she wants to be in control and not just sitting back there, so the msf course is in her very near future. I'm looking forward to all kinds of new adventures when she gets her license. |

I have several years of those type of Uly memories with my kids. It is a great time...and always seems to include food! Before heading to Iraq last May I rode my Uly cross-country to New Jersey to leave with my brother so that he could create some of those lasting memories with his kids. My Uly is in the area you were riding Tank...Ocean View (right off Rt 9). So if you see a red X cruising around there...that is probably my memory maker! |

Hey Maximum, thanks for your service. I am even further south near Ocean CITY. I once took my city-x cross-country. It served me very well. Take care. |
