Blake Leading at Atlanta is not competing? Suggest you educate yourself on some facts. I thought that it was Barber in Alabama??? At the last race, right? Hate to nit-pick, just funny someone wrote something about educating on facts while saying something that wasnt a fact. If May did lead at Road Atlanta then I apologize, I never heard of that and I know it was a huge deal when he lead at Barber, making me think it was a first |

1 rider, 1 bike, against all of the rest are still big odds. We need 5-8 Buell Riders in the Superbike mix, so it is not all on one rider. If we only have 1 rider, that is fine, but more would help the odds. We need some of the Buell Teams from the past to get back into the mix of things. REX |

Good call, Blake! The ill-informed poo-slinging by Mr. Obnoxious was getting extremely tiring. |

That clutch cover looks a little different, wonder what has been done to the stator as well? |

Probably some simple fixes that H-D didn't care to deliver. Oh wait, were you making a jab at Buell? |

Now, now Ratsmc - as a long time Buell owner I resent your allegation. |

Not really making an allegation just maybe pointing out that it wasn't totally clear what you were trying to say. The internet is a pain in the ass. It is damn hard to be witty without looking like an ass. |

Ratsmc - no worries, although I think my 1125R is the best bike I have owned in 35 years for the grin factor, the annoying faults and just the possibility of the stator failure now the bike is out of warranty worry me somewhat. As for the 1190RS if the clutch operating systems and the stator have been reworked it would be nice to know and to see if we loyal Buell owners can pick up an upgrade kit as a sign of good faith at little more than cost price, I would still have to pay import duty into the UK. As soon as the 1190RS becomes available I will be robbing the piggy bank, but to get one over to the UK may prove too expensive for the time being - what a great looking bike |

The venue was not really material, the fact of import was that the bike led an AMA Superbike race. But I do appreciate the clarification. Just looked at the new Road Racing World, April issue. Nice write-up on the 1190RS there. An excerpt:
An 1125RR Superbike engine produces about 175 rear-wheel horsepower, but that is accomplished with a 14.25:1 compression ratio and a racing exhaust system. Thicker (and easily replaced) base gaskets lower the compression ratio to allow the 1190RS to work with ordinary pump fuel, but Erik Buell said his new streetbike produces about the same horsepower as his current AMA Superbike thanks to a new, larger airbox and a new exhaust system. Have I mentioned that RRW is one of the best sources of complete unvarnished information on sport bikes anywhere? Don't miss it, subscribe now! |

But Blake, what does Curve Carver think of this? That's mucho power, especially on pump fuel. |

He's free to tell us. My guess is that it's a slight misprint, as the 175 RWHP is reportedly with the race pipe and ECM, not for the bone stock streetbike. Throw in the full superbike racing treatment, likely to include cam timing adjustments along with the major increase to compression and the requisite racing fuel, then 200 RWHP seems achievable. Go Erik Buell Racing! |

> then 200 RWHP seems achievable Wow. That's a lot. Any idea of what the Duc 1198 in full WSBK trim is making? I'd suspect the 1190 to be similar. |

Maybe even more, as WSBK gets more leeway for engine modification. Ducati HP is amazing. |
