Took over a month. Thought it was lost. Ian kindly sent me another one. Both have now arrived. I can't use two. I'm making it available to first person who covers the shipping. Has this big washer proven itself? Anybody have any experiences good or bad with it? Call me a skeptic, but I just don't believe everything I read on the internet. I rode it one day and took it right back off. I could definitely feel more vibes in the handlebars. Now, don't get me wrong, I have Palmers windshield brackets and they are one of the best aftermarket products I have ever put on any of my bikes. It just so happens that I did not care for the way the bike felt with the mount saver in place. I really do believe it would make the isolator last longer but it removes some of its damping ability too. It keeps the rubber part of the isolator from flexing so much, thus making it last longer. With all that said, I plan to keep mine in the tool kit and if my isolator fails completely out on the road, I will install the saver and hopefully be able to get home. It just slips in place with no tools but I know that if the isolator is shot, it will be a little more difficult to install the saver washer, due to lack of clearance.   Pontlee77 Posted on Thursday, February 17, 2011 - 02:20 pm:        I have it not noticed any more vibes, the reason for it is to prevent the bottoming of the front isolator, so it may just make the life of the front mount longer, although in over 45.000 kilometers i have ned no problem with it.   Motorbike Posted on Thursday, February 17, 2011 - 03:05 pm:        Pontlee77, When I first installed the saver, I noticed more vibes immediately. (Oh by the way, my bike was almost brand new at the time, maybe 350 miles.) Since it is so easy to remove and install the rubber washer, I pulled it back out and the bike was much smoother. I put it back in again, more vibes. As I said, it is now in my toolkit. If the bike has more miles on it and the isolator is already bad, you may not notice any more vibes, in fact, it may reduce them. My explanation of how it works still stands. You are correct also. By making the isolator so it doesn't bottom out, it will last longer due to the fact that the rubber in the isolator cannot stretch as far because travel is reduced. The reduced travel goes hand in hand with a reduction in damping ability.   Motorbike Posted on Thursday, February 17, 2011 - 03:20 pm:        Also, the Palmer website states "The Mount Saver does not affect the mounts isolating performance." I would have to disagree with that. Has anyone else had the same experience? I believe most of Palmers products are top-notch. I am real sensitive to any changes, vibrations, noises etc in any of my vehicles. I could tell right away that the handlebars buzzed more with the mount saver in place, last time I tried it. Thanks.
