My question is- can I put the various parts from my '06 X on a 2010 XT and get the exact same thing? The differences may be something I could live with. Plus, I would have a perfectly good '06 XT parked right beside it. Any thoughts?   Hughlysses Posted on Friday, February 18, 2011 - 08:14 pm:        I guess you could. The only thing a "real" 2010 XT would have that you wouldn't would be the larger diameter forks and offset triple clamps. I think you could buy those parts new for less than $1k if you wanted to go all the way. Oh yea, the XT won't have the beefier wheels of the X model, but you do not want to swap your 2006 rear wheel onto a 2010 bike. The 2010 rear wheel may be its biggest improvement. When I'm done I could sell the '06XT and whatever loss I take on it plus the cost of the rear wheel would be the total cost of a 2010X (kinda). Its one of those lights that chevy trucks used to have under the hood near the battery. It has a switch, a 15' retractable cord, a suction cup and a hook as I recall. Its base is attached to the pan next to my tool roll.
