Anyone know how much the Friction Zone Service Bulletin costs to have done? I do a lot of city riding, and I'm thinking a bigger friction zone would be nice. |

Do it! I think I paid @ $130.00 for the parts and $60.00 for the tool. It may have been cheaper if I had bought the parts from American Sport Bike. I got the tool there. Stop and go works the way it is supposed to now. |

Oopsie----that was @130.00 for the whole job, parts and tool. A friend wanted to make the tool for me, but the American Sport Bike tool has fittings for both the Blast and XBs. |

If you follow the link above it is a modification to the clutch plate stack that will give a smoother engagement to the clutch feel other than the stock on or off feel. |

???? The BadWeB link takes me to a homemade clutch spring compressor thread. The American Sport Bike links go to the front page of their site. I've scanned it 3 times and I don't see anyone talking about the clutch as much as the tool. -Saro |

Erick & Ed I did that bulletin and I am very happy with the results. I used the homemade tool as shown in Ezblast's posting. I tried the other homemade tool and it was too difficult for me to reach the spring clip. The part number for the spring clip is screwed up, and since it is a stock Harley part I wouldn't buy a new one until I was sure I needed it. Take the old one along to the dealer to make sure you get the correct part. Kenny G |
