And, I saw some sheep yesterday... However, I don't understand how you can have a 'ranch' with no livestock on it? Is that Texan for 'large tract of land'? I guess I never missed the cows when I lived in heifer central... southern Wisconsin... |

I can't remember the last time I have been so jealous. Stay safe and keep the plastic side up! Much love from Chi-town! |

>>> I don't understand how you can have a 'ranch' with no livestock on it? Using words like "compound", "bunker" or "lair" attracts too much attention. |

Which reminds me of the Basque who retired from mutton punching on the Texas range, singing "There will never be another ewe." |

I have long wanted to explore the farm to market roads in the hill country around Austin. Not to mention the great music there. |

BBQ lunch in historic Gruene, north of New Braunfels, 2nd lunch in historic Fredricksburg, there's a motorcycle museum somewhere out in the Hill Country. Luckenbach for a round of golf w/ Willie. I'd live in Austin if I could shed various contractual obligations and concentrate on my chosen responsibilities. |

The motorcycle museum in the Hill Country is worth a visit. http://lonestarmotorcyclemuseum.com/ It should be great this time of year. Last year I watched Bartimus standing outside going blub blub blub to all the Harley riders. Of course it will not be as entertaining. Too bad the weather turned to crap when you were South of us. (Diesel fuel without additive starts to gel at 10 degrees, DAMHIK (it was minus 30 with the windchill for a few days)I think we would of liked to have seen Big bend National Park during that time. Safe journey Char and Piglet. Frank |

BE CAREFULL IN TX!! Tejas has more kinds of police than many other states. They are bored and they target out of state vehicles and motorcycles in general. The first words spoken to me by a LEO in TX were "Do you want to ride that motorcycle to the jail or should I call the towtruck". They have a law called "public intoxication" which they use to arrest people when they don't have a valid reason. It cannot be fought successfully and it does not matter if you are intoxicated or not. There are some really great people in TX, however. Enjoy! |

I am enjoying my time here already with Road Thing, Michelle, One Eye and The Lump. I told them if they are too nice and keep feeding me, I might not leave. Everyone in Texas has been really nice to me... well except the sleezy men who were mentally undressing me at the Motel 6 in Del Rio... Yeah, go figure, I end up in a border town at a 30$ a night motel... Not the highlight of the trip. But, really, this home is gorgeous... and they have been feeding me real good. Soon, to check out Tom's motorcycle stash... Getting used to having clouds in the sky. Gotta follow up on the San Antonio job and the Navajo job in the next few days. |

Panhead Dan, Ain't grossly overgeneralizing to disparage an entire state fun? Char, Enjoy the Ranchito! It is a wonderful place. Good luck with the job prospects. |
