Hi everyone, this is my first time posting, I've been reading this forum for about a 3 months or so and I thought i should finally post a little something about myself. So i figured I'd tell you a little about my past motorcycles and how it led me to my one and only Buell!! Well here it goes, I started riding right after i joined the military I bought my first motorcycle in 2007 which was a 2001 Honda Shadow 499cc and I liked it and loved riding but I quickly outgrew it and wanted something more.
Than I went to my local bike shop and fell in love with my first sportbike, which was a 2005 Kawasaki ZX6R(636cc), and OMG was it a ride I instantly knew I was meant to ride sportbikes forever!
(Sorry I don't have any better pics but for some reason those are the only ones I took and their because someone kicked my bike) After a couple of months after my first deployment I had the pleasure of meeting my wife and got married. Little did I know how much of an influence she would have on my "motorcycle" world. She quickly was interested in riding and took the MSF class and got her license and of course her first motorcycle (scooter) it was a 08 SYM 250 and she loved it. For some insane reason I wasn't really as happy as i thought i would be with my zx6r and i Just happened to see an ad for a 2007 zx10r and I just had to see it. I test rode it and instantly loved the raw power and the bold looks of the motorcycle and i had such a blast.
After I bought my zx10r I was finally happy but my wife and I have this tendency to buy things on the fly with no need for it and this is exactly what happened after a quick visit to a dealership. Let me tell you that it was the biggest mistake I have ever made motorcycle wise and financial wise. We bought a 05 Yamaha Venture and had to trade in the ZX6R and the SYM scooter and still had to pay a butt load.
After I purchased the Yamaha Venture I did not like it at all, in fact I hated it and did not want anything like that ever again, it was heavy, obnoxiously loud, slow, it only had 5 gears, it was just horrible IMO. I quickly Got rid of it and lost a ton of money doing so but I just wanted it out of my garage and life all together. So after a year or so I decided to buy my wife her first real sport bike which was a 07 Kawasaki EX250 and she liked it but was really scared and not confident as much as she was on her old 250 SYM scooter.
Later we PCS(permanent change of station) to Colorado springs CO and I decided to make my wife happy by buying her another scooter that she can feel comfortable and confident on, she explained to me how much she liked her SYM scooter because it handled well but wished it had more power; thus i decided to buy her a Yamaha Majesty scooter (400cc).
I though it would be the perfect bike for her, enough power handling and confidence but little did i know how unpredictable women are, she said that it was good but not great (it shook too much). So I was fed up with trying to find her perfect bike and decided to focus on myself. So at this point I still have my ZX10R and the Yamaha scooter; I really liked my ZX10R but I was growing tired of the uncomfortable riding position and the maintenance. By this time I was more familiar with bikes and what to look for and how to buy them and I knew that the type of bike that best meets my needs is a naked/standard motorcycle. So I fell in love with the pictures on the internet of a Buell 1125CR, I love the way that it looks, that it was a Rotax built (not harley) V-Twin, comfortable riding position, that it was American made, not a cookie cutter bike, etc etc etc. I just loved everything about it. But there was a slight problem there was no available CR's in the entire state of colorado, I looked for countless months on Cycle trader, craigslist, all Harley shops, etc. but couldn't find one. So I gave up, later after a couple of months on a crappy day filled with stupid crap from work I came by an ad on cycle trader for a 09 Buell 1125CR and I just had to have it, but the only problem was that it was 1200 miles away. Luckily I have a very understanding/loving wife and she knows my passion/obsession for motorcycles and she agreed to drive with me all the way to Joplin, Missouri to get the bike of my dreams. So finally after countless motorcycles, money wasted, and many headaches I finally found my motorcycle of my dreams, my BUELL. So here are a couple of pics I just recently fitted an APEX slip on pipe and a power commander and it sounds absolutely awesome. So there it is my story and I'm hoping this won't be the end of it........

I got you beat. I flew from San Diego CA to Grand Rapids MI to buy my bike and rode it home. 3100 miles with no problems. I love my CR too! Good story though. |

I love my CR too. The red ones are faster. I considered a ZX10. How does the CR compare? |
