Progressive tried to screw me when I bought my 09 1125R and they said it would be $519 EXTRA PER MONTH! WTF?!? Harley told me about Dairyland Insurance, who insures only motorcycles (www.dairylandinsurance.com) and I have insured both my bikes (04 Sportster 1200XL) year around for about $70/month with great coverage. I also dropped Progressive on my car insurance after that. I'm saving a ton of money now. |

For those of you that still have note on your bikes, you can bump your deductable up to the max during the winter months and then lower it in the spring. Not a big savings but better the money in your pocket than theirs. Just don't forget to lower it in the spring though. Coincidently I forgot to and had my first accident 15 years... If my foot would reached back there I'd kick my own a$$. |

Wow... you guys have it easy down there in the USA when it comes to insurance rates.... Me, I haven't had an at fault insurance claim for about 22 years (knock on wood), one hit and run (car got hit in a parking lot when I was at the gym) about 15 years ago... Bike - only been riding for 3 years on the street... Best rate I could find -- $1320 per year. Ack!!!! |

I'm going through Dairyland (Sentry) and am paying $1,415.25 for the year just on my 1125R. Obviously there are a number of factors involved in each individual's price and comparing amongst ourselves is futile.

Fixed it for you. Good idea, but doesn't work for me since I ride year-round. |

Yeah, you definitely have an advantage as far as the weather goes. You must have a lot of miles on your bike by now... What are you up to? I have to contend with a lot of rain here in the Seattle area. I'm only up to 62,132 miles on my 1125R. I bet you must have a lot more. |

I use dairyland and have all 4 bikes through them. I can put up to 3 bikes on a policy, so now I have 2 bikes on 2 policies and still get a multi-bike discount...until I sell one. Then I have to move one bike on the other policy. I think I pay $1500 a year for all 4 bikes on full coverage. I have not had any other agent even come close to dairyland's prices. They all would like to try, but often fail. Being over 25 is a BIG savings. Having a clean driving record is another big savings. Keeping the bikes in secured storage (locked garage) is another savings. |
