http://www.wipo.int/pctdb/en/wo.jsp?WO=2010099063 They elected to file this (they had a placeholder on it in the US patent system) after Buell was closed. Fortunately, and as usual, there are some work-arounds that will allow Erik Buell Racing to continue to use something very similar, and with the same benefits, in the future. The latest brake system doesn't have everything originally intended for the 2010 season with the B2-based homologation bike -- like the billet ZTL caliper with reduced weight and yet better cooling -- and it still works gangbusters. Nothing was much more pleasing than seeing May outbrake the Suzukis at VIR and Sears. |

FORTUNATELY.It certainly IS a tough business world out there.Sad that they chose to protect it as theirs.Once upon a time HD helped save BMC.And GREW it. Can Erik do now, what he couldn't do when HD signed on? That Barracuda-II was a stunning example. |
