Thx all. I'm enjoying the bike a lot... and I find it comfortable...
I haven't searched for the window yet, but it does have a dipstick oil level gauge... |

How is the rest of the the bike holding up? Clutch, etc etc etc? That's a hell of alot of saddle time in 2 years! Good for you!!!! |

In 14 days I will have owned the bike for 3 years.
I've had a few issues, but overall I'd say it's been fine.
Mostly had issues with breaking belts (5), the infamous clutch weep (fixed 3 times - seems resolved), and some minor electrical issues (parasitic draw, damaged wires in ignition and left side fan). |

Welcome. What part of Italy are you in? My family is from Marcianese, close to Naples. I lived in Naples for a time a while back. I rode a Honda when I was there. I loved it because I could basically go as fast as I wanted all the time. Tangenziale, I think that's what the highway was called that I used to take to work. As you know riding a bike there is a lot different than here. I found that car drivers seemed to respect bikers a lot more than here. I really miss being able to split traffic like I did there.
I've got the 2008 Anniversary model. The bike is like a ho that knows what she's doing. Thrash on it all you want and she still delivers perfectly. Only problem I've ever had is not enough time to ride it because of work or just life in general. You'll love the bike.

Hi there. I'm from Matera, a little town about 50km SW of Bari.
I know Naples pretty well as I worked there for a few months in the early eighties. |

Today I used the Buell to commute: 15 km one way, but on the way back I made a loooong detour. This bike is super, but the road I choosed was really miserable with bumps and holes and dirt and everything, which is not exactly her cup of tea. Arrived home and swapped her with the V-Strom. Oh my what a difference... the Strom seems to have an electric motor. She's a great bike too. I'll keep both.  |

In my opinion it was a good choice on your part in keeping both the 1125R and the V-Strom.
It has proved very beneficial for me having a back up bike available at times, but it can also be troublesome deciding on which one to ride too.
Regardless you have two good motorcycles which can offer you two different levels of enjoyment...Enjoy them both, have fun, and ride safe!!! |

Folks, let me go back to the Erik Buell Racing ECM that so many of you are suggesting. Which improvement should I expect if I replace the original one on my bike with this one? Is it a plug in operation? And what about the danger of voiding the warranty? |

You can swap back to the original if it needs to be taken to the dealer for anything, it is very easy to swap out.
It should smooth your bike out at lower RPM's, and allow a bit more kick at the top. |
