I've got a 'recall' type steel swingarm for a '95+ tube frame that I was going to put on my RS. Stock on S1, S2, Cyclone, etc. before they went to the cast aluminum units. Sold the bike, now the swingarm has become a mere curiosity. Sits in the garage, forlornly unreconciled, whimpering for a new home and maybe the chance to fulfill it's original purpose. I'd post a photo, but do you really need to see this poor, naked unit that's like all the others? I'll PM you a shot or 2 if ya just gotta peer at it. It's straight, stock grey color and has the usual nicks and chips in the paint. Still has the misc. little tabs and such for belt guard, brake line, whatever that stuff was designed for. I was too lazy to cut and grind all that off. Lucky for you, 'cause you need that stuff on there, don't ya! Probably a good candidate for some fresh powdercoat or paint, but the bearings seem fine. DIRT CHEAP!!! make offer. I'm not easily offended, so don't concern yourself if you feel you need to get this item, but lack funds or lack willingness to part with those you do have. Just be advised that I'm not prepared to PAY YOU to take it off my hands - I'm easy, but not a pushover. Oh yea - it comes with a nice set of glass-beaded axle adjusters, at no extra charge. Before you get too excited about this whole thing, keep in mind that it's made of steel and is bulky once boxed up for shipment, so shipping to anywhere other than maybe Pasadena (I'm in Glendale) may be a bit pricey. Al PS - I took it the the Long Beach cycle swap meet a while back, and no less that 3 people asked it it would fit a softail. I think the swingarm is still pissed about that, so there may be some issues to address there, if you have any therapeutic skills. (Message edited by leftcoastal on January 02, 2011) |
