so i tuned my suspension to my weight and stuff today. i weigh about 163 and im still gaining. so i set it for the 165 and up settings. and when i took it out for a ride it was very stiff and like i felt every little bump. is that normal or should i make it softer? she did handle a little tighter but im just not sure what to feel for. should i just leave it to its setting? |

I have both of mine set at the recommendations in the owners manuals. I weigh about a hundred pounds more than you, but I think the ride is smoother than either of my big HD baggers (Electra-Glide Classic and Road Glide). It's a personal preference, and the settings in the owners manual are just a very good starting point. Fine tune to your preference. |

I lightened up the comp dampening. Mine was a little stiff, and I dropped a quarter turn or so lighter. Lightened right up. I do 30 mile commutes though, and prefer the plush ride. YMMV. |

Thats where a few tries cumulatively resulted in. Start with 1/8 turn or so. A little here can make a big difference. If it gets too loose, you need to go to full on, and back it off as per the manual. Cold to warm weather is less than 1/16 of a turn on my bike. 1/4 turn is actually a lot. |
