ok, i wouldnt mind a little knowledge from the collective... ive got a local guy and his brother that came in and each got 12r's one an 07 one an 08. both have drummers and the resistor for the exhaust servo removal. thats it. other wise stock. 07 is running fine, always has. hardly so much as a hiccup. 08 on the other hand has had a thing for fouling plugs the whole time. not over powering, but enough that it has become an annoyance to the guy. it is basically a cold start issue. he says if it fires up it runs fine and never fouls, but when starting it, it tends to foul the plugs. seems to crank over fine(as in not slow, low battery problem) says he's not messing with the throttle, or blipping it. remembers talking about the problems with doing that when he first bought it and i said it wasnt a good idea on the buells. we could tune it, but there is no ecmspy/directlink at our shop. i can do plenty, but adjusting the ecm is not something i have the ability or knowledge to mess with personally. and being an 08 they seem to be more difficult to do tuning to?! so any recommendations? its kind of getting thrown on me to see what i can figure out. |

Hi Tim, I even fouled the Irridiums with my 08. Solved my problem by using a battery maintainer every night and putting the Erik Buell Racing ECM on it. It automatically idles higher when starting till it warms up. Not a fouled plug since. It also runs better in the low RPMs. Not the cheapest fix, but it worked for me. Next contestant. |

Maybe a leaky injector?? take the airbox off, run it and shut it off, let it sit overnight and open the throttle and see if there is gas in the manifold... |
