Could any of you dealership guys check a part for me... the drama that is my warranty is almost done, except they now say they are waiting for a cluster that is backordered and shows no ship date!! I assume the are ordering the updated cluster... and that a 2008 (which the bike is) cluster is not even available anymore... but maybe they are trying to order an 08 IC and that is why there is no ship info. service guy just called and said "backordered.. no ship date" what a bunch of AssHats! Am I correct that it should be an updated cluster? Should I call and make sure they aren't trying to order an obsolete item? | ||

Ordering any part that is superseded should give an order for the latest part number. I haven't had any problems like that. | ||

Ask them what p/n they are ordering, the p/n for an 09R IC is Y0500.2AM, that should be the updated p/n. | ||

First - Y0500.2AM is obsolete, current rev is Y0500.2AMA and it IS on backorder. Parts Locator says these dealers MAY have the part. Whether they will sell it over the phone is another issue. Tbolt - have your dealer call one of these guys to see if they can get it for you. I do that all the time at work, calling other dealers for B/O parts. A lot of Parts managers won't let go of any B/O parts they have, to cover THEIR local customers. Z |
