I have an XB9SX, Hero Blue, and I wanted to remove my lightning decal and my on base stickers since I'm getting out. I fingernailed some of the decal off, then tried solvent, which ate away at the plastic, and finally someone told me to use boiling water (which worked after I had emulsified away part of the windscreen and scraped away the other half). Now I have a scratched, partially chemically melted windscreen that I have been trying to polish with compound from the auto store. Should I just give up, bite the bullet, and order a new screen? If so, does anyone on badweb have one kicking around? I would much rather support another Buell rider than the evil HD. |

Oh, I forgot to ask. If I do buy one from a site, does it come with the sticker on it? In which case I suppose I'll just skip right to the boiling water trick and save myself the headache this time. I would prefer to just get one without though. |

If you order the windscreen it will come bare with the stickers in the box. |

You might be able to polish some of it or all of it out with some Mothers or Novus plastic polish. |

Even badly damaged plastics, ( actually Dupont Surlyn), can be restored with a little patience and a little skill. A bit more than seems to be applied here, no offense intended. At this point in time, almost every single Buell XB question has been answered. The trick is to find the answer: use the Google search utility at the top of this page. Anyway, some old timer has posted a rather complete instruction set on how to polish your plastics, and I know for a fact that it works. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/295158.html?1186362864
