after a xb12r 05 vintage side stand pivot bolt. anyone able to help? |

I'm not sure what fabrication skills you have, but you can drill out the broken pivot bolt and tap it 1/4x20 SAE then cut the head off the 1/4x20 bolt. I've done this to get me by until the replacement kickstand assembly comes in. Yeah it's $60+ dollars, but it is a much better design. The weight of the bike isn't on a 1/4" thread, but a 1/2" pivot shoulder. Cheap insurance. |

its $140 here in australia. i'm a fitter and turner and was considering doing that but i'm lazy. was also thinking i'd use a 5/8 bolt or whatever size the pin part is and tap out the stand back to suit and drill and tap the bolt head to put a little dowel in for the bendy bit. |
