1999 Buell X1 Lightning Own a piece of history! The tube framed Buells are great bikes, and this is a very nice one. Adult owned and driven, mainly as my summer commuter. Absolutely zero racing, track time, or idiotic riding. Runs great and rides great, and has been ultra reliable. All paint/plastics/finishes are in great shape. I absolutely love this bike, but am selling because I just don't ride it any more and could use the garage space. Asking $4,000. Serious buyers only, please. Call 952-237-1801.
- 1,203cc, 45-degree, fuel injected, v-twin engine
- 5-speed transmission, belt final drive
- 15,xxx miles
- Original polished PM wheels
- Forcewinder Intake (still have original airbox and plastics)
- Vance & Hines SS2-R exhaust
- Race ECU
- Harley Davidson derby cover (still have original one)
- New rocker box gaskets and butterfly valves ~3 years ago -- ZERO leaks
- New HD OEM battery this year

I covet your seat! Any interest in selling it? The bike might sell better with a stock unit. OK, it wouldn't but I still covet it. Anyone know if these seats were available all black or do they all have colored piping? |

Sorry, I'm not interested selling any parts. Unless you want a $4,000 seat, in which case, I'll throw in a free Buell to go with it. |

Still for sale sir? Wish I could have looked at it the weekend you posted it as I was in Minneapolis to pick up the 98 S1W (orange and blue). Has the bike run or been on the road recently? Informational only; I noticed the registration is from Feb... I guess the pictures could be from back then... Thanks, Alex |

Hi Alex, Yes, the bike is still for sale, but it's now near Mankato, MN (~1 hour south of Minneapolis) for winter storage. I could arrange for a viewing if you'd like. I took it for a few rides this year, just to get it out and run it. And yeah, the registration is updated to 2011 now - the photos are probably from the summer of 2009 (absolutely nothing about the bike has changed since then). Everything is in great working order -- I just don't ride it any more. Regards, Curtis |

Well, I got my "new" X1 Lightning from Cwitt. About a 350 mile run today. The weather, for this time of year, could not have been better. This bike is really beautiful! I had people in cars riding alongside me and giving me smiles, a guy at a fuel stop in Iowa wanted to sit on it (I said no). In summary, this bike has soul baby! Thanks Curtis. I enjoyed my time with you, Mark, and your Dad today. |

Congrats "Two_seasons", I had been looking at this bike, went so far as to get shipping estimates to Pittsburgh,PA from brokers online. I ended up finding a 99 X1 in Columbus,OH last week, little closer, 3 hr drive to trailer it back. But you got a sweet X1 there, have fun! |
