So, I've got 10,000 miles on my 06 Ss and am going to do the service myself. I think I can do everything but the TPS reset. I was reading here of the wonders of EcmSpy, but see that it is no longer available for unsaid reasons. They show a demo version on the website, will that help me do a TPS reset? |

I thought TunerPro has the ability to reset all the parts and codes as well as the tuning??? I haven't tried it yet because I've been working on other stuff and didn't need to do anything. |

I have both, I haven't gotten around to using tunerpro, but I've heard really good things about how it's easier to use |

TP can read/write just about any information that is stored on the ecm. I definitely wouldn't consider it more user friendly than ecmspy. However, once you take the time to sit down and learn the GUI its a very powerful program. I have both TP and ecmspy and find myself using TP more and more. I'm in the same boat. My '06 Ss is (over)due for the 10k mile service, she's got ~12.5k now, oops. Is there a secret handshake? Thanks, Nels |

Thanks for the additions guys, I wasn't even aware of tunerpro before this. Looks like I've got some reading to do to figure this stuff out. |

The only thing I didn't do at my 10k service is mess with the TPS reset. I now have 18k and no problems at all. I will do a TPS reset this winter though, among a bunch of other things. |

tunerpro can do it but you follow a direct input once backed out on the tps screw. you will reset the values to be equlivent to a zero degree. I have not written the steps down. to learn the process. do this. fetch with ecmspy at tps current. also read with tunerpro. see what tps cells values are. now back out to you know its closed. read values again. switch back to ecmspy. read values. reset to zero with ecmspy and read values of actual cells in eeprom location. if you put the zero values into tunerpros eepro spaces thats the same as clicking the reset button in ecmspy. like i stated i have not fully done it but that should be the process. 1 back out. 2 plug in the zero values manually. then turn it back up and you done. I would have to go test it real quick to be sure 100% but by theory that will do it. their is many things you can do with tunerpro. some are fast and simple others are a bit more lengthy. no matter whose xdf or adx you use. mike Mike |
