Oh, wrong bolt. Sorry. I torqued the pivot bushing bolt to whatever the manual called for. 30 ft/lbs sounds right, but i'm not sure. Mine never stuck. The bronze bushings are definately worth the price. |

Here is a pic of the Buell Accessory seat mounted on my S1W. Nice and wide, yet you can still move as you need to in corners. It even has the flying horse thingy on the side.

The rear passenger pegs on my 2000 S3T will not stay in the up position. They constantly fall down. Is there a remedy for this or spring kit so that they stay up unless held down by some feet? jhbushmasta@aol.com |

I just tighten mine down a bit. They have nuts with nylon inserts so they stay where you put 'em fairly well. DAve |

I don't figure, I just steal all the good ideas I see here. What I really want is the foot controls from the Duc 996, Now there's a bike with nice details galore. |

Does anyone who has installed the 01 shifter on a 00 M2 have any comments? I finally got around to installing mine today. I think the connecting rod needs to be a bit longer. I have extended the rod to the max and still feel my toe is down too far. If you relocate the shift shaft one more notch clockwise, the leverage changes enough to make noticably more shifting effort. I suppose it could be chalked up to my short inseam (31"), longer legs would naturally point my toes lower. All in all, I'm going to leave it on. It has a MUCH more positive feel than the stock Rube Goldberg assembly. BluzM2 |

Tripster : I'm with Dave on this one. Why complicate the footpeg design with springs and washers. A periodic check of the tightness will keep the passenger pegs up. I leave the fronts slackish for obvious reasons. Anyway, everyone should fit the Pro Series Pegs. If you haven't already, you will not belive the difference in handling. They just happen to look way cool too ! Rocket in England |

$42USD for 4 positions, now polished. The fronts are spring loaded like a real motorcycle, just in case. I want the rears to pop down 'cause I put my feet on the rears on motorway cruises. The Buells definately lag behind in the "nice touches" department. Make up for it though with the frame design and pure emotional ride experience. Was looking at the new Monster S4 today, what a pig to look at. Harnesses and plumbing in view everwhere. The new S4T looked pretty sweet though.. |

I'm kinda of confused. There is a kit to make my rear pegs spring loaded? That would be great, if so. What is the Millenium peg i see mentioned. My passenger pegs like to stay down, would love for them to be spring loaded. jhbushmasta@aol.com |

I know the Buells are sport-oriented, but has anybody played around with taking one closer to the "standard" configuration? You know, like wider bars, more upright riding position--kind of a dirt bike or flat track style bike for the street. "Street-trackers" seem to be getting popular in some circles, and the idea is appealing. Not intending to commit heresy, just a random thought... road_thing |

LISTEN UP, Has anyone tried the "New" Buell Custom M2 seat for the 99 up models? Looks good, but don't know how soft the padding is. I installed a Propad with good results so far, but the stock vinyl on my seat is "slick", and slides me towards the tank. The Buell Custom seat looks as though this would not be a problem, but was wondering how good the padding is and if it will be comfy on an all day ride? Inquiring minds have to know!! |

I sat on a Buell custom M2 seat in Daytona. Seemed like it would be great. Kinda in between a Corbin and stock. |

Just took a 200 mile ride the weekend of 4-14-01 to check out the "Propad" I had installed on my 99M2 recently. Worked better than I had anticipated, did not leave me sore or booty-worn, in fact, I was ready to keep going. I would recommend you give this a try. |

Travis, meet my left and right hand for polishing. I first sanded them from medium to fine sandpaper (260) and then used both machines First the blue machine to get between the groves, I used the green to finish it up with Belgom ALU polish. My 97 M2 now has a big tank from a 2000 Cyclone and higher wider RD400 bars and its a lot more comfortable. |

Regarding stock seats, my 99 M2 seat is looking faded and detracts from the bike. I have tried all sorts of stuff to bring it back to life with no luck. I hardly want to shell out $230 for the custom seat. Anyone have any ideas as to what recovering it costs or where you get it done? I am unfamiliar with things like this. Thanks |

Leeaw, It cost me well under $100 to get the seat recovered and refoamed on my Honda at an automotive upholstery shop. Just walk into the front office of any automotive upholstery shop and ask them if they do motorcycle seats. If they say yes then ask to see one. If they don't have one handy then say thanks and go to the next shop. YMMV. |
