Dave, yes prod Tat ! great idea. I'll happily buy some oiled bronzed bushings for the 01 shifter. Polished up its not too bad, personally I like the simpler look. |

'01 X1 shifter: It truly works well; I'm impressed, but I will bug Tat about some bronzed bushings. One thing I found-out is that the '01 shifter is MUCH better for smaller-feet; the toe-piece sits a good inch closer to the foot-peg (which is finally correct for my 8.5's). If I had big feet I'd get the shifter for a S3/M2 as I'm sure it's shorter. |

I've called Tat and they're looking into bushings for the new '01 shifters. |

does anyone offer a reverse-shift-pattern shifter for the M2? Seems to me it could just be one piece of alluminum (and a toe peg) coming off the spline. That should be a cheap piece....anyone...anyone? |

Paison, There is a stock style sportster piece. It mounts to the shaft and curls backward over the clutch cover. The toe peg sits about dead center of the cover. I just can't remember who or where I saw it last. loki |

Paisan, Check out ASB, they used to have a reverse shifter. A buddy has one on a S1, looks as good as their regular shifters. BluzM2 |

Hmmm, Upon further reflection (and checking the catalog) it may not be ASB. Gonna have to ask my buddy tommorow and get back on that one! Sorry bout that. BluzM2 |

Jiml, That's where I saw it! Paison, Storz catalog page 31 item number HD083.20 - this is the reverse pattern shifter and retails for the amazingly low price of.....$89.50 contact info: www.storzperf.com fax# (805)641-3650 phone# (805)641-9540 As I mentioned before, it place the toe peg centerline of the clutch access cover. loki |

Thanks for the info on the shifter....but $90? Doesnt that seem a bit much (more like ridiculous) for an 8inch piece of metal? $30 maybe, but $90? Jeesh these parts of way over priced. |

Paison, Seems that way doesn't it. All one has to do these days is attach the words 'billet' and 'aluminum' to it. Just look at what HD is charging for the new 01 shifter set-up. loki |

For my $ the $99 HD 01 shifter is a good compromise of cost between function and price. Espicially when compared to the Banke @ $245. Loki: My bike is finally rid of gremlins ! Wanna ride this weekend ? |

Loki, I agree that the '01 Buell shifter is expensive at $100, but I bought it, and it shifts so much better I feel it's almost worth the hundred-bucks. I couldn't justify the Banke though (even though it's a much nicer piece). |

All, I hear you. I just need to remember I was not budget constrained when I went with the Banke. That and I did not feel like waiting for the 01 parts. Any improvement over the old rattle trap is worth the expense. Seeeu911, Sounds good to me! I need to finish off this Dunlop before that Daytona thing makes it here. Ping me and we can set something up. loki |

Tripper- Thanks for the millenium peg part numbers. These are buell part #'s right? Are they really only $7.00 each plus hardware? I called my buell dealer and they must have given me the price of other pegs because they were expensive! Thanks 4runner |

4runner - If you asked your dealer for "Billet Pegs" he is going to sell you the Pro Series which he has on the wall, or in the Parts & Aparrel catalog. The items at the top of this page are nearly the same after you polish them. |

All, Sorry to make you repeat yourselves, but will the 2001 Buell shift setup work on my 2000 M2? If so, can someone show a picture and tell me what part #'s my dealer needs to order for me? |

Looking for a skidge more room seat-to-pegs on the X1. Will S3 touring pegs fit? ...can anyone confirm part #s, fitment etc.? I have P/N 50547-94Y from a 2000 catalog but it says "includes new shift lever and rod"...which I don't need since I have Banke's set up (both sides). Thanks |

Whoa! Mikej... buddy...pal.... I just noticed you're 2/18 post. You picked up the '01 shifter for your M2 for under $100?! I believe it goes for $150 - $200 (or am I thinking of the Banke shifter). Pick up a shiftr for me why doncha ;-) H-man |

H_Man, You are thinking of the Banke product. The new Buell-Brand shifter retails for around $100 or so, then I get a local PerformanceAdvantage discount on Buell and/or performance parts. The Banke one is finished nicer, but the Buell one still gets rid of the lasso looped shifter. MikeJ. where the weather is starting to look mighty nice outside |

Buellistic, Is the peg lowering kit you talk about the mounts for the S3 Touring Kit. I talked to my local dealer about that part number and he informed me that the Touring kit was the same and that since P/n 50548-94Y is 74.95 each and the touring kit is 100.00 that I should buy the touring kit and get a free set of pegs. If this info is not correct please tell me. Rock |

After scraping the pegs on my M2, I started to think of a way to get the pegs up higher. I know there are kits available from Banke, but I don't want to use the long shift rod like the stock configuration. What do you guys think about using a cable to work the shifter? Automatic tranny's have had cables for years. The cables come in several lengths and are pretty sturdy for push/pull mechanisms. The pegs could be moved up above and behind the isolators, and the cable could be routed down under the primary cover. A new shifter and a way to attach the cable to the primary cover would have to be engineered. What do you think? Worth the effort? |

Cable in shift linkage will likely give you a very spongy shift linkage. |

the effort required to move the shift linkage in a slush box, er, automatic transmission, is mch less than is needed to change gears in a sporty gearbox. I think you'd loose a lot of feel in the linkage once you set it up, and you could very well wind up needed TWO cables, one for each direction. a directly-mounted, reverse-pattern lever (like Bartels') would certainly work, if you were willing |

Does anyone have the ASB peg relocators installed on their bike? I just saw them in the catalog while looking for headlights. |
