I'm sorry Las Vegas Harley-Davidson .. but dropping those links is just wrong!

In case you guyz haven't noticed .. most Buell riders aren't huge fans of harleys. You know .... seeing as how harley shut buell down

Just my opinion on it .. I think a few others would agree

Actually . . . the problem is that sponsors, the folks who help make this site possible, pay for advertising here so "bombing" pretty much makes the mind see "SPAM" when it happens.

I haven't been to Las Vegas HD since we premiered The Art of the Motorcycle and I need a part for a vintage Buell one day. I do recall that the Buell confused the living heck out of them.

I also recall the time that Forbes FYI magazine was going to do a special HD feature and the owners of LVHD were in a tiff with HD and stiffed the magazine folks on the bikes.

Other than that . . I have no recent memories.

Sounds like LVHD needs a less experienced venue for spamming... ; )

Hi all, just got an 09 Uly XT two weeks ago(traded my KTM Super Duke for it). Love it so far, and already starting making up some custom bits for it. I'm pretty good with fiberglass and plastic fabricating. Keep an eye out for some pictures when I get em done.

Rode a friends earlier in the year for a couple weeks and when this one came up I jumped on it.
It has the hard side bags and 2 windshields, but I'm already looking for mods to do.. : )

I just bought the 7th last XB12XT. I'm impressed with everthing the bike does except make my right leg hot. Do the comfort kits work. Any adverse effects from installing one? This is an outstanding site to learn about the world of Buell.}}}

I found that wrapping both pipes and the collector with hot rod shop heat wrap did an amazing job of reducing not only the heat radiated to your right leg, but the air around the engine itself, and if you can reduce the amount of heat within the airflow directed to the cooling fins of the engine, it runs cooler. I've had wrap on my pipes for nearly three years with no problems at all, and if you take your time and do a nice job of wrapping them, they look pretty cool as well. (LOTS of threads on this subject) Congrats on the XT; of all the bikes I've ever ridden, it was the most fun, and really comfortable, not to mention able to easily keep pace, two up, mind you , with some knee dragging squid. (though it makes me wonder what that bike would have been like with a full fairing and an 1190!)

Hi guys,
I'm roy from the netherlands.

I've been driving buell for a couple of years.
My first buell (also first bike) was  x1 millennium.i only had it for a couple of moths because it got stolen.

When i had the money again to buy another buell i bought a buell x1 racing stripe.another limited editition...i really loved this bike.i replaced a lot of parts to refine its look, but wanted to keep the looks original
It took me almost two years to make it just the way i wanted it.
This winter i planned to do the last things on my buell to finish it .......

But last week disaster hit me......
I got hit by a car because the woman didn't see me.no bones where broken, but the buell is wrecked.the frame is bend.
It wasn't my fault so the insurance is going to pay.

I'm in a bad mood for days now, i really loved that buell.

On my search for a new buell on the internet i found this buell forum .
Looks like a great forum and maybe i'll find my new buell over here.

Hope my english writhing isn't to bad.... Could try to introduce in dutch but i think no one would understand any of it.

Hey Dutch, my first Buell was the X1M too it was #289 and a drunk driver smashed me one day back in 2000. A month later I got the X1 Red Racing Stripe (X1R) and I still have this bike #274. Last July I finally got another X1M from somebody on this forum. So I have it again after 10 years of losing my first one. Its #650. Hang in there I'm glad you found the BWB's you'll get there again have Faith man : )

they are around I think when Buell put them out in the market there were 400 here in the states and 400 over seas. Court and Dave would know this better than I. They had special VINS, SS is in the VIN numbers if you get a true one. they would be easy to replicate since there are tons of parts on E-bay for the tubers. Yeah post some photos of you X1s that would be cool. How I do it based off of an IBM computer is use the Microsoft Picture Manager then crop photo down to the web size then save and you can upload. That is the easiest way. Take care

@ babired,,
i know it would be easy to replicate, but i like to have a original x1r.
if i don`t find a x1r i will customize a x1.

there has to be a nice x1 in my garage before spring begins

I've looked around enough over the past year while researching Buells and found myself here many times. Just registered and decided to say hello.

My dad, brother and I got our motorcycle licenses last summer. This summer we split the cost of a Buell Blast three ways. It's serving as both the learning tool and my ride to school, weather permitting. I've actually done a 3 1/2 hour trip (one direction) and a return trip (total of almost 7 hours) on our Blast. It has just over 4,ooo miles on the clock. Sure the bike's not the meanest or fastest thing out there, but I'm enjoying it every time I ride.

I'm also looking at stepping up in the Buell world one of these days (don't have the budget right now). I have been doing a lot of research on the bikes looking for which one would be good as a second bike, unfortunately, there's no dealer anymore, and I don't know anyone who has one that I could test ride. Thoughts and opinions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello to the BADWEB peeps, was directed here by another member at a local drive and ride, been lurking a lot, and enjoying the buells.

Have a 72 xlch bobber at the moment, please don't hold that against me : D but am seriously wanting an older x1. There's a ton of info here, thanks in advance for the brain picking I'm sure to be doing.

Its a great time to be looking for a tuber, some smoking good deals out there. We can give you the short list of proactive things to be done and the bike will be very usable and reliable.

Soon as I sell my bobber, I'm going to be on the hunt for a clean one, Reepicheep. Still deciding on whether I have to have one with FI, or if I can live with a carbed model.

My carbed M2 ran great after swapping out the low jet. A little less power and a little less economy, but a much simpler system for the long haul

Hello all, I bought a 2009 1125CR back in August, it had 1220 miles on it. I rode it directly from the dealer to the beach for the weekend, which was about a 2 1/2 hr ride. Spent the weekend there and rode 3 plus hours back home. I have put about 1000 miles on it since and I love the bike. The bike I had before it was a 2004 Honda RC51 Nicky Hayden Edition which I did some pretty decent performance upgrades on, however, I got into Buells because my friend has an 1125R Anniversary Edition, and that bike kicked my RC51's butt repeatedly so I checked them out and I got hooked.

I'm here basically to learn as much as I can, and see if there's anyone in the Northern VA area who wants go weekend riding. I'm really excited that this site exists because it is awesome!

Hi People. Found this site a coupla days ago when I went looking for "Buells for Sale". I'm from New Zealand, DONT have a Buell but the plan is to put the oxfords together (Oxfords = Oxford Scholars = Dollars), find one for sale in the States, and hope like hell I can get it shipped over here without getting ripped off or buying a shitter. I reckon I mighta hit the jackpot by the looks of things here at B.W.B.!!!!

Had a mate have to leave his Buell at my place a wee while ago and told me to take it out for a blast - and that it liked a good thrashing! Hadn't owned a bike for a few years so was a tad hesitant about taking something so exotic looking (was thinking blowing it up or highsiding it and the cost and trouble of fixing it.) I'm not sure what model it was - a "tubber" I've learned from this site - probably a cyclone or a lightning I'd guess after looking at a gazillion photos online here and elsewhere!!

My riding history has been all British; A10 BSA to start then a T110 Tiger(1961), a '65 Bonnie then about 20 odd Triumph twins and finally a 1969 A65 Lightning, then mortgages etc forced me off 2 wheels but now I'm back !!

So the plan is to interact with u guys, work out whats the "best" model, pitfalls, production problems, what to look for when buying, etc. . Jeeze there are so many Buells that seem to have mix and match part swaps its hard to work out whats what. . . but I'm a quik study. I'm gunna go for a tubber as I dont really like the look of the post '02 frame. I'm thinking a Lightning or a M2 Cyclone with a Thunderbolt
as last option . . don't like the look of the rear guard so much on those.

So bare with me - I'm gunna end up asking some dorky questions occassionally. So see yas round.

Kia Ora, Chris! Welcome to BWB. You will find a bunch of us here that are ex-BSA/Truimph riders like yourself. This place is a wealth of knowledge about the Buell line . . .don't feel shy about asking question at all.

I have a good friend in Matamata who is a fellow Buell enthusiast . . .Eric Pemberton. He has several Buells dispersed around the US and at least one NZ, if memory serves.

Tumeke and Ka pai for your plan to find one for yourself!

Welcome aboard Chris . . . we've been waiting for you.

Fortunately you are in good company and now alone in New Zealand. One of our most zealous contributors happens to also be one of your premiere magazine folks from New Zealand. He'll be able to translate into New Zealish for you.

Many of us here are old, tired and worn out. I'm not nearly as worn out as Don (see above) but I'm in pretty ragged shape. The upside for you is that we've lots of collective experience.

I've been riding Buells since the very days and have accumulated quite a few miles over 23+ years of riding them through 44 states.

We're glad to have you here and I'd wager you'll be thrilled with the wealth of information.

Ride safe, lean much and smile more. . .

The early tubers had a stack of issues, but we know them all now, and they are nothing you can't work through for a couple hundred bucks over a few weekends. And at their worst, the tubers were still a lot better than the old brit bikes...

Thanx for the welcome guys . . did not expect any "kia Ora Bro" coming outa that part of the world . . . but then "Kiwi" was already taken as a moniker.

Yeah, can see there r a few "issues" with the tubers but show me a motorcycle without any. I'm "oldscool" with bikes - never owned a japper never will, so dirty hands come with the territory. And most of the Trumpies were pretty reliable, especially the A65 Beezer Couldn't break it.

Looking forward to learning
