Not necessarily. Just the same rationale as the majority of Brew City Members had back when I was active. You can't fault anyone for family or job responsibilities. Life is tough in this God forsaken part of the economic world. Just wish the Big "G" would lighten up with the weather for a few years. I am sick of this crap. |

No kidding. Been trying to get work done around the house. Managed to get the fence up between downpours, now I need to get the back porch complete. Hard to do when its raining 23 hrs a day. |

I personally have enjoyed the rain. It's been nice during the week days so I ride a bit, but I have been completely remodling our kitchen so when it rains on the weekends it's easier to stay in and work. |

Oh well, the Weather Gods appear to be smiling on the Buell Homecoming...at least for now. |

Back in town, 5540 miles round trip (car trip), saw a nice S1 and XBS ripping up the hills around Virginia City Nevada. This ends the Buell portion of my trip report. Carry on.

Mike...Just read your report on another thread and did the LMAO thing. Di and I were going to do a similar three week road trip to So Cal and would have returned tomorrow. Unfortunately, our time frame kept getting chopped and we flew out for a week and rented a Mustang convertible instead. How sweet that was! Had a great time. Felt like I never left. Everyone and everything (except the real estate prices) were the same as when I left. Now we are planning to move back to Dana Point as soon as the housing costs drop off as they always do after folks over leverage themselves during times of low interest rates. Spent Sunday hanging out at the Lookout with my riding buddies. Had a great day running the Ortega Hwy but only saw one Buell late in the afternoon. It appears he was headed home after a day in Orange County. Was a little disappointed as I had hoped to run into some of the area Bueller's at the Lookout. Come to think of it, that was the only Buell I saw during the entire trip. Tell you one thing...The Memorial Day weekend was really depressing here. The cold rainy season we call spring is like winter back home only considerably longer. Welcome home! Are you planning to go to any of the homecoming events? Am thinking of Friday at Uke's as it is also their open house and I won't feel like a "Freeloader." LOL |

We did the whole drive in 11 days. 3 weeks would have been a much nicer pace. Friday afternoon at 4:30pm we were still in Aberdeen Washington, Saturday put us to western Wyoming, Sunday put us into Nebraska someplace, Monday afternoon at around 2pm we were having a tired lunch in Cuba City Wisc. We sort of dodged the main storm while westward at the Nebraska/Wyoming border, and late last week there was a rare Tornado touchdown in Washington state about an hour east of where we were staying which convinced us to wait a day for the return trip weather to clear and adjusted our return route to avoid the worst of it. Have you considered living just south of Camp Pendleton? Less crowded and still close to Ortega and the roads on the east side of the Cleveland hills/mountains. I often thought of living in the Oceanside area when I was still out there, but went northward and now eastward instead. If I hit Ukes on Friday it will most likely be a short visit since I'll probably have to be back up in the Glendale area by 3pm and don't get off work until 11am that day. The music Saturday night sounds like a possibility, but we may be kid watching so it will depend on when the parents return from their day of freedom. I may just have to wander down to a freeway overpass and wave at passing bikes. |

Di and I are planning on driving to the Saturday evening function. Think four wheels are better than two in the wee hours after a pop or two. So let me know if you can make it. We checked out the entire area from San Diego to Long Beach to Palm Springs. As Di is a professional makeup artist, we need to locate where the women that spend large to look good live which rules out a lot of areas if you get my drift. Plus, Huntington Beach through Anaheim is where what is left of my industry is located. LOL Our planned road trip was to do the twisties in the Miata running through Denver, Grand Canyon, Lake Havasu, Ensenada, LA/OC, Santa Barbara, Carmel, Napa Valley, Yosemite, Death Valley, LVN, Bryce and Zion, Black Hills/Badlands and home. Di had never been west of Madison, WI and wanted to see it all. As it stands, we have many years of trips to look forward to. In retrospect, three weeks in a Miata could have been either heaven or hell. Fortunately, we both are convinced heaven would be the answer for us. |

Dull's bikes are "grope". His speedo was broke for awhile. I think Dull's bike got a little to close to mine when I was not looking and "infected" my poor, innocent S2. |

D'nut...Was referring to the Speedo's you wear in the water not the Anti-Ticket Device on your dash. LOL Hope you get it fixed before you get the typical "Fastest Rider Award" from your future employer. Things like that can be a real downer. In the interim, go with the flow and let someone else play Bear Bait. |

Dead on Arrival?? What the hell is that crap!!!! Just because people do not have access and/or the time to post on BADWEB does not mean that Brew City is anywhere near that. To read that kind of stuff is not only detrimental to the club, but it gets OOOOLLLDDDD!!! Even if it is meant in good fun, it just doesn't help. There are a lot of people that cruise the board and do not know how to take certain posts. Hell, I might even be taking it the wrong way. But as I just stated, it gets very old. As much as I can credit BADWEB for the success of many events, groups and clubs do not die because the number of posts. Come on, give us a break. Have you seen what Brew City has got kicking around? Have you seen our new newsletter? Jerry edited by blastin on June 02, 2004 |
