im currently rebuilding my 00 x1's engine and have come across some near new 2001 Buell M2 D-series torque cams my question is will these run in my x1 and if so will they cause any problems or noticeable differences?

What you propose is essentially changing your X1 motor to an M2 motor.
The D grinds will have more bottom end and less on the top. A bit fatter midrange as well.

You don't need to change anything else. The FI will figure it out on it's own after 30 miles or so.
