Well after 13 years and three Buells ('98 3ST, '03 XB9S and '06 XB12X) I've moved on, simply because there are no more Buells to be had. Harley-Davidson has absolutely nothing in their current product line and corporate thinking that interests me... This left one obvious choice for me: BMW '11 R1200GS

Apples and oranges - what is your impressions of the GS vs the Uly? Smoother? Comfy? Do you hear a girl with a German accent saying "faster"? |

Looks like the bike's about to tip, someone fix that sidestand! Yeah, I may go that route someday when I have a pocketful of cash, but with our current administration's economy all I have is "change" (well that's what he promised!) Have fun & ride sicheren! |

It's an optical illusion... I just looks like it's going to flop! |

Now I know where the guy who designed the S2's sidestand ended up. Have fun with it, handsome bike. (Message edited by SteveFord on October 17, 2010) |

Anytime I think of getting a new "latest and greatest" I just figure a good cleaning would make my ULY seem new and then I just lay down and forgetaboutit since that would be too darned much work. |

110 miles .... So far so good.... Getting my muscle memory reprogrammed for the German sense of ergonomics ...particulary the directionals has been an interesting memory battle.... It's a stupid little thing, but I suppose I'll get used to it.... The ride is nothing short of phenomenal due to the ESA.... More as I adjust... ....Developing... |
