Hi Buell members, I just wanted to pass on a great stereo speaker system that my son and I have just installed on his XB12R. The system is by Cycle Sound and purchased through RCC Sportbike Co. We purchased a ATV kit because we wanted the larger 2-1/2" speakers with the 150W amp. The system was extremely easy to install. 1 Hot wire to accessory and a ground. Everything else just plugged in. The sound level is incredible! LOUD and CLEAR!!! With the bike running (Jardine Exhaust) and his full face helmet on, he can still hear the speakers! He is using a iPod mounted on the triple tree. The speakers fit perfectly under the fairing without interfering with the controls. Amp is mounted just under the gauge cluster. I will post pictures tomorrow. So if anyone wants to listen to music while they cruise, this is the system to get. Take care and Ride safe! |

The system retails for $399.99 but Jack at RCC Sportbike sold it for $345.00 including shipping. They are on sale now. Go to their web site: RCC Sportbike.com |

so is he plugging his ipod directly into the amp or is it like a radio with a built in amp? |

+1! I am curious about this setup, I use helmet mounted speakers, partly because it would be clearer but mostly because I am sure the soccer moms on the highway don't want to hear what I listen too. |

I will post pictures tomorrow. The system is by Cycle Sounds. You can look at their website for info but it will cost more there. The speakers plug into the Amp wiring harness. The Amp has a male jack that plugs directly into an iPod, iphone, MP3 player. The sound blows away my stock street glide system. With the 2-1/2" speaker size, bass is very limited. The sound is just extremely clear and loud. Thanks for looking. He was using an ear piece in 1 ear but doesn't have to do that anymore. He loves the system. Please check tomorrow for pics. |

Hi Members, Here are the pictures of the Cycle Sound System installed on my son's XB12R. Black speakers against the black fairing make the speakers blend in.

I could see it working on the bike with the system, but I think you overpaid for that kit with what comes in it. either way it looks like a nice install (Message edited by wolfo68 on October 01, 2010) |
