Anyone have their clutch weep after being fixed? I took my 09 R in at 8300 miles for the stator and clutch weep. I have ridden about 1000 miles after getting it back and the clutch is spitting brake fluid out the hole again. They said they put a new seals in it. Is there a permanent fix or is this something I get to deal with until I find some way to put a cable clutch on this thing? Thanks for the info. |

It's happened to others here. I've lucked out......so far. There is a "repair kit" that includes a sleeve as well. I know the part number has been posted here a million times. |

I bought 5 sets of seals to keep. The above part number is ordered for my bike and when it comes in I will let them put it in and I will order new seals for that too so I have em. I had the seals made by a local guy the second time cost me $8 per seal and they have been the answer so far. It takes like 20 min to change the seals so it aint so bad |

They should have replaced the piston and cylinder when replacing the seals. It is an updated part. |

cool thanks, when i let the dealer know that its leaking again, I'll ask about the piston and cylinder update parts. Its still under warranty so I will use the dealer until I have a bad experience from them, however good to know seals are cheap in case I have to do it myself. |

Yea they probably just changed the seals and not the piston, I had the X2086.1AM kit installed on my 08 about 5000 miles ago and it has been fine since. Edit - Check your repair bill and see if it lists the part numbers they used. I had the X2086 part number listed on my bill after getting the repair. Mine started again leaking the day after I got it fixed. This was in May...still no parts. |

Spank, did they replace the whole thing or just the seals? Seems a lot of dealers chose to replace only seals. Either they didn't know or they didn't want to wait for all the parts. |

Yes they replaced the whole thing. Had the small puck, they replaced the internals and cover. Now I have been told that they have some of the parts, just not the rest. I am gonna check with them one of these days here and find out if they have the internals as my cover isn't stained. That and I have to find out if I have to pay for it as my warranty is gone now. |

just checked my invoice and sure enough that pn isn't listed, so I will be taking that to them when I take the bike up there. Thanks again |

Ok, so I went by the dealership friday and they looked at it, according to them the bike already had the clutch system upgrade, but is leaking anyway so they have to talk to someone in corporate tech to figure out what to do. My guess is that they will have to get a new clutch cover, piston, sleeve, and seals to fix it again? |

They probably whacked H-D for the whole thing and just did the seals. I had my own seals made and they have been holding up they only cost me $8 each so I don't care if they go bad every couple thousand miles. They only take 20 min to replace anyway. I will always take the upgrades for free of course. I still have the old part in mine I am waiting for the upgrade parts to come in at H-D and I do believe the seals are different but if they also fail as long as the dimesions are the same you can use the old style seals. |

You don't have the clutch leak fix according to your paperwork. Once they figure that out and install the fix kit, you will be good to go. |
