Who is running this exhaust with the EBarrr Barker specific ECM? What are your impressions? I may do a track day or 2 but 99% of my miles are on the street, so I am looking for impressions on the street. Any dynos? Any popping on decel? Run smoother? Run cooler? MPG? Is it crazy loud without the QC insert? |

While I don't have Barker specific tunes, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that you will love the ECM, regardless of your riding! There are no downsides to it. Smother, more power, improved handling (due to smoother running), better fuel economy (10% improvement for me), nice low idle, quieter due to idle, and so on. I've heard the barker with QC, it isn't crazy loud, but it loses the bark of the engine and has the same sewing machine sound of the stock muffler. |

Tpoppa - The main issue I wrestled with on my original E-B-R ecm after a few thousand miles was the lack of decel compared to the stock ECM. On the street the E-B-R ECM was difficult. Braking against an engine that wants to diesel at street RPM is not easy. I sent it back asked for Barker tune and to put decel back in like stock. They put more decel in, less than stock but more than their original setting. I think it is almost perfect, all kinds of fun. Going into a turn with just enough engine braking that any slight input to the front brake works well, very well. You have to ask for the Idle Air Control (IAC) setting to be like stock and they put it where ever. I am saving for the Barker now. The bike is better than ever. |

I have the Barker can and the ebr specific tune for the Barker ecm, I also ran the Barker with the generic version of the ecm before it was reflashed for the Barker can. I can tell you what, it ran good b4 the reflash but after the reflash it really was smoother and is spot on on the throttle ,in other words yes it is even better with the matching can flash on the ecm |

I run the Barker Pipe/ECM combo...Seat of the pants dyno say it's probably 10ish - 15ish HP more or so than stock. Take that with a grain of sand though, it is 10x smoother than stock and runs cooler. My mileage stayed pretty much the same. I'm running the 1.5" QC and it's still loud, I don't think I'd want to run it without it on the street. (Message edited by westmoorenerd on September 24, 2010) |

I have the first Barker tune ebr ecm. First the af ratio error will pop with out the race ecm. in other words your lean with just the pipe. The Race ecm makes the lower rpm so much smoother. The Barker can without the quite core isn't bad i have 9k in miles and yet to be stopped for being to loud.(i don't have a quite core even to try) but i am happy sound and power. i have a decant sound clip in my Burnout thread. |

I have the Barker and current Erik Buell Racing ECM with more engine braking and stator control like DannyBuell. It is truly a panicea of what ails your Buell. It REALLY DOES run 10 degrees cooler, gets better fuel economy according to the computer, is MUCH smoother in operation particularly at low rpm and it even fixed my intermittent digital speedomoter cutting-out problem. As to loudness, the Barker sans quite core insert is very loud but I "tip toe" though small towns and coast through neighborhoods when I can to allieviate the noise. Overall, the bike is a completely different animal with the pipe/ECM combo and I highly recommend it! -Tutt P.S. My spelling sucks. Sorry. |
