I have a 07 City X and I just finished replacing both rocker box gaskets. I get everything back together, start it up and it runs poorly and there is a loud ticking noise. I followed the factory service manual exactly, so I don't know exactly what I did wrong, but I'm guessing one of the lifters or push rod is jacked up. Does anyone know what could have caused this? I guess I'm tearing it apart again and starting over. Just hope I didn't damage anything. |

How long did you let it run? It takes a while (minutes) to pump the lifters back up, and sounds horrible while it is happening. |

I ran for about 10 seconds and shut it down. It sounded really loud and was running like it was on one cylinder. So this may be normal? |

That is what my S3 did after changing the same gaskets. Just let it run for a few minutes and take it for a short ride it will stop. |

If you are reasonably sure you did everything else right (and it's pretty simple on these motors, no cam chain to time) I'd agree. I'd run it for a few more 30 second cycles, letting it cool in between, then take it for a ride. |
