I have washed my bike twice and both times the left blinker stays on for 10 mins or so until it dries out. I know to keep water off the cluster and i don't spray it down but is their something I am missing. |

It's the switch assembly, happens to me too. I've started putting a bag over the left grip and switch housing, tie it up with string or twist ties. Seems to keep it dry enough to prevent it. |

Mine stays on for about 24 hours, unless I ride it enough to dry it out on the road. In my case, it is definitely not due to water getting into the handlebar switch. I've conducted thorough inspections and used multiple sealing methods. The turn signal problem starts with any spray in vicinity of the wiring below the instrument cluster on my bike. It's not something that seems to be easily remedied, so when washing the bike I time it so it either won't be ridden for a few days, or apply water sparingly. I have ridden in light rain, and this issue did not occur. |

Get a little can of WD-40. THAT is what it does best, Water Displacement formula #40. |

A few blasts of compressed air into the switch usually clears it up for me. |

Who washes a bike? I just knock the bigger bugs off the headlight. |

My guess is the cap on the blinker fluid reservoir is loose and the wash water diluted the fluid which can provide unpredictable results. |

So, what year has this issue with the cluster? I have an 08R and I wash my bike including the cluster all of the time and have not had an issue. I even wash it with a high pressure washer and no issues. The cluster is and important part of the bike that should definitely be water tight! Is there an updated cluster that can replace the problematic ones? |

I think it's in the switch assembly. Happens every time I pressure wash the bike, and run the wand past there. If I don't, no problem. BTW, I generally only wash my bike when it rains. The only reason I bought a CR was for the black rims. They are more or less brake dust colored. Saves me a TON of time vs the Lightning with the gold rims.... R |

Yeah, I hear ya. I have maybe washed my bike a half dozen times in the last 2 years. But still, no issues with the signals. Knock on wood! |

It's the switch assembly, xb owners, such as myself had the same issue. |
