FYI - this S2 Folder is also set up for "general chatter". Just wanted to make sure you realized this part was here! I hope this set-up works for all of you who may post here. If we need to adjust something, post here or drop me a PM. Kristi |

I can't get the folder to stay up top. Blake suggested that I add a link on Old School Buell that will show up on the main page and link you to this folder. See what you think! |

Hey! You're alive! I still plan to do the Hoser update to my S2 one day (assuming I can still find the recipe or can find it in the archives here). Are you off in your own shop now? |

Been out riding mine 23 degrees this morning, poor thing ran like a Blast for about fifteen seconds before settling into a fast idle. 20 minute warmup in the garage before the commute to work, purred like a kitten. I love the look on cagers faces when a bike blows by them, all huddled up in front of their defrost vents and wearing gloves to hold the steering wheel. Priceless. I also love my +2" windshield in this weather, LOL. |

LOL, glad see that Dan has hung his "shingle". I was just reading about your trip in the Colorado thread in the storm fronts. Glad to see everyone had a good time, what did that 1125 dyno at? I'm in Phoenix this weekend, had a nice ride with some old friends, was nice being out and not freezing my A$$ off. |

I am not sure but I think 125.... I could be wrong. I think Zack wanted to see what it was at altitude. I was on my Firebolt and he had no problem leaving me behind LOL... |

"Which recipe / update ? " Jeff, At one time you had posted a list of items you did to your S2T where it was just the cams and some other external items, might have been a new controller/ECM, pretty sure it involved a muffler, pretty sure it didn't involve any head or piston work, did involve either rejetting or a new carb. I just re-found this thread. |

Blasted computer! I posted this wrong. Quicksilver carb saga part3 Tuning Madness OK I have the new backing plate and carb re-installed and have settled on a needle setting that works with 15 disks in my Supertrapp muffler. The bike runs well, has nice snap opening the throttle and idles well at 950rpms. I have a bit of a problem when it gets warm, the carb will sometimes drop to 1200rpms until I gently nudge the throttle. I added some Techron to my fuel and it appears to be helping. The big problem is at 3/4 to full throttle. When I open it up it bogs down at full throttle and then speeds up when I roll back slightly. From my readings it looks like the main jet is too rich. OK, so what leaner jet should I get? One step leaner or two? I know it's a somewhat dumb question, but I want to get lucky and order the perfect size so I don't have to pull this carb off again. 15 discs seems small you might want to up that to at least 18 if using a closed end cap.. |

Ok this is odd. I tried 20 disks and found the power to really drop off at the high end. The low end was OK but not great. When I went to 15 disks throttle response was snappier at the low end and I had less of the drop off at 3/4 to full throttle. At 15 the plugs look normal, not black, just a nice tan color. It runs well, I think I will ride it around and think about it for a bit. Yes, I am running the closed end cap. This is also the updated carb with a pump. |

anybody have any good sites, vendors, or ideas for some different options for exhaust systems for the s2's besides vance & hines? i have a vance & hines right now, but dont like the sound. put my old supertrapp on and it started to spit & sputter. i once had a force sidewinder and loved it, but really don't want to spend that much money again. any suggestions? |

hello, i'm looking to do a little something special for my s-2. would like to start with the exhaust. right now i have a vance & hines, but i once had a force streetfighter on a different s2 and loved it, but i don't like the price now. is there anything else this good out there for less? also, i would like to do some motor work, starting with cams. any suggestions? would really like a thump! i'm assuming the thunderstorm heads are the best combination with the cams, but is there anything else someone can do for less to the stock heads to make them comparable? in other words, i would like to do a hop up, without spending more than the bike is worth. any ideas???? |

hello, i am looking for a nice set of bags for my s2. i guess i would prefer a set of hard bags in the s3 style, but not sure of a cost or how they would fit. anybody have any info on $ or where to get a set? also, if not a set of hard bags, i would settle for a set of soft bags as long as they fit good and look halfway decent. any info on where t look for something like this would be greatly appreciated. i love riding my bike, but the inconvenience of not being able to take anything often prevents me. thank you. |

Mine runs great with Thunderstorm heads and pistons (.005" oversize, stock jugs bored to match), the Buell accessory Lightning Component Cam kit (I believe the same as X1 cams), a Buell Race ignition box for S1W (to go with the t-storm compression ratio; the S2 race box had too much spark advance built in for the CR and I got some pinging), and rejetted stock carb. I also have a stock header with Buell race muffler, with homemade 2" to 2.5" spacer. Much more lively than the stock S2 motor, but not as violent as the S1W due to the taller overall gearing (different pulley sizes) and heavier flywheel. The heads and pistons are still available new thru Buell, and they're not too pricey. You'd probably pay a competent machine shop the same $$ to get your stockers ported and rebuilt to get the same performance level... |
