read the service manual. i'd e-mail them to you in pdf format, but i suck, and don't know how to break them down small enough to attatch. sorry |

Are you trying to determine whether you really need to replace them as your post implies, or are you actually going to replace them? (If "B", then get a service manual - it will tell you everything you need to know). It really isn't very hard, maybe an hour job. |

Spelling error was my fault. Sorry. Yes I would like to be able to tell if I need brakes and install them myself. Were do I get the manual from? |

OK, maybe this will help. Minimum rotor thickness (stock rotor)4.5 mm. Minimum pad thickness 1.0 mm, which is pretty damn thin.(red circle). Basically anything over about 1/16" thick on pads is OK. Unless you have worn the pads down to nothing or the rotor is gouged or warped, you probably do not need new rear brake. Caveat: I have not seen your particular situation, so advise you use best judgment.
