I always want to ride, but I can't confirm for sure for the weekend... I have to see what is going on with the Ohlins deal. The guys at Ohlins liked the video I did so much that they sent me some upgraded valves to replace the ones in my existing cartridges. I am going to have to do a video on how to install them, and if we can drum up enough interest, then they will be sending me a set of their 30mm cartridges. The thing with those is that the fork caps don't fit our forks, and will have to be machined down and have new threads cut, not a big deal, but they don't want to do it unless there is enough interest. The cool thing about Ohlins' 30mm cartridges is that one fork tube handles compression and the other handles rebound, which makes for better comfort by maintaining better contact to the road through bumps and corners. The top guys in racing right now are utilizing Ohlins in their bikes, and at around $1400 for the kit, you can't beat it! |

Ohlins makes great stuff that being said Erik Buell Racing is selling new Showa forks with all the goodies inside race cartridges and all for $950 and its what they use on their race bikes. I know its not the same but...I'm also not doing track days and...if I was I'd still be plenty inexperienced to truly utilize the differences between the two. as I always say "Anyone can drive a fast car, but not everyone can drive a car fast" and the same applies to bikes etc...... yes the right equipment helps, but sometimes the best is not always needed. just saying money is tight and if I was to go one those routes I'd save the money and the time. Guy's opinion on the other hand may be different |

There is a less expensive option of changing just the fluid valves in our stock cartridges. The whole idea to this stuff is to maintain maximum contact with the road, thus resulting in not only a better handling motorcycle, but also in a more comfortable ride. Anyway, what I am going to be doing first is changing the valves and riding it like that for a while, and then maybe down the road I will be changing to the new 30mm cartridge system. And Torq, there is a reason why Ohlin's top of the line is $1400, and on the winning bikes right now, and the showa is only $950!!! |

wasn't trying to start a pissing match I was responding to your statement about enough interest for Ohlins to make it. we all know that there isn't enough aftermarket parts for our Buells and the why is because there isn't enough of a market. I never said Ohlins wasn't top or that it doesn't deserve the price difference. I said that unless money fell from trees or that I was good enough to be able to challenge Rossi, Hayden, Stoner....alot of people may not want to part with that kind of coin. by now we should all know that "I" really care for my Buell's (hell I have two of them) but if I could either afford or be a capable enough rider I would own an Aprilia, Ducati, Bimota, Benelli... BUT I ride on the street and there is no need for an Enzo when a big block Chevy will embarrass it streetlight to streetlight my opinion (and just like assholes every one has one) is that Ohlins would be better served offering a set of their Forks with triple trees for a true bolt on. many have already sourced such parts to put a complete Ohlins suspension on their Buell. to hide Ohlins components in Showa casings...well.... |

I hate posting my opinion sometimes because my tone always gets lost in translation. It is not possible for the person reading to know what my body language, or tone of voice is. All that being said, Torq, I was in no way shape or form, trying to get a pissing match started. I was merely stating what I know. If I came off brash, then I apologize. Don't be too sensitive where I am concerned! |

So, I put at least 200 miles on my bike today, most of them by myself. Guy called me while I was stopped, and we met up for a very short ride, and Rob and I rode to our meeting this evening, everything else was on my own! I thought that some people here like to ride, Kosack you are excluded from this, but I still put a lot of miles on my bike alone. Kosack probably lives the furthest that I know of from our meeting point, and yet he is usually either there first or second. I don't mind riding alone, but riding is more fun when there is someone else there. Come on guys, venture out of the air conditioning and go for a sweaty ride with me!!!!!! |

Tell me. I just got my scooter out for the first time in about a month. Got to watch SOA at Cagney's. Hopefully I will get the Buell running some time in October. I still have to get tires for the Jeep. It ain't gonna be cheap. Believe it or not, I have the tag sticker for the Buell sitting in the flyscreen, never actually put it on the tag. I guess that makes it over a year that the bike has been sitting. I really need to get the bike in, have the tank drained, have it serviced, and get a battery for it. Seeing as how I haven't ridden the Harley in a month, it's not as surprising as it seems. On a lighter note, this job seems to be working out great for me. I still follow the group here too. Hope to be through training in about another month, hope to get a raise, and have every thing situated. Then maybe I'll have enough time and money to do what I need to. |

Hi!!! I just wanted to check in and let you know that I will not be participating in any riding activities this weekend. I have to do a sewing project this evening after work. And tomorrow is the big day for me to change the valves in my front fork cartridges. The video will be out shortly afterward!!! |

start doing track days and you'll get all the curves, with no speeding tickets, you want after you left Guy and I did a couple impromptu casual stoplight drag runs to just north of the triple digit mark on the Beeline, well we weren't really racing (Guy would certainly beat my novice ass) ,but we would've definitely left an XB behind. and then of course on our ride home I did my typical "lets see how far I can get on the low fuel light" run...24.3 traveling between 80 and 100...and ended up pushing about a mile for more gogo juice one day I'll learn thanks for coming to play boys (and we missed our girl) |
